i think u have to reset it bro...coz mine is working fine...instagram, twitter etc also ok with the nav bar
*
Nope reset won't fix it. You have to be at the home page of the app and also using the stock OnePlus launcher. If u use another launcher it's fine, so I suspect it's animation or input bug with the OnePlus launcher.

Ya.. I'm using stock oneplus launcher and at the home page bro smile.gif
*
Then the spot u hit must not be correct, cause I've tried this on multiple OP6 and people have been complaining about this bug in xda & also OnePlus forums.
The spot is tricky to find, it's the most left bottom corner, but more so to the bottom. It's hard for me to explain, but once u find the spot u can trigger it almost 100% of the time. I've been in contact with the devs since September but they still haven't fix it ffs.

Haha.. Icic.. Okie bro.. No worries.. I'm just glad I'm so used to oneplus own gesture hehe

BTW the sot is not bad

Battery life still too early to tell, but in changelog OnePlus mention imptoved standby time.
I used AccuBattery to check my battery capacity. Seems like ady degraded 20%, been using it since launch day in May. Maybe gonna change my battery next week.

How do you check ? Under battery health ?? I wanna check mine too
*
Yup, have to go through a few charging cycles first. Some claim it to be not accurate so I'm actually not very certain about how accurate it is too. Cause regarding 20% in less than half a year seems a bit too much.

QUOTE(marcyeo @ Nov 2 2018, 04:04 PM)
Huh? So fast degraded? U very rough on ur phone ah bro? I mean overnight charge, or charge during main games
*
Yup but some claim AccuBattery not accurate so I don't really know. Just send it to SC first la if really degraded then change haha.
I charge overnight and heavy twitch & Netflix streaming. So sometimes by noon left 40-50% I'll charge to full again. I don't play games, main usage is YouTube, Twitch & Netflix.

i'm not sure how accurate is accubattery but my OPO 2014 with ori battery still shows degraded 20%. i only practised keeping battery between 20-80% this year( i know its too late) , all 4 years i've been charging to 100% overnight.
*
Wow OPO u really take good care of ur phone.
For me I just charge overnight and always charge to 100%. I'm still skeptical that we're in 2018 and smartphones still can't charge to 100% or do overnight charging as it'll 'damage' the battery :/

Well, like I said, as long as there are parts for it, shouldn't be too hard to find someone to switch the thing out if your batteries have worn out too badly.

Though when it comes to "sealed" devices like the OP6 with its water resistance, I'm not so sure about leaving my device under the care of "normal" folks (aka kedai corner Lowyat) for a battery replacement.

Like I know most Samsung SCs do water integrity tests after repairs.

ace-user It's actually entirely dependent on the quality of the cells used IMHO. At least with what I've seen in my own devices.

My old Honor 8 only got through less of a year of overnight charging before going cookoo completely (like going straight to zero from 20% and not even holding 100-20% charge that long).

My replacement unit H8 I configured for 90% max limited charging and its doing pretty fine past a year now (as my backup phone) with none of the "20% sudden death" crap.

Of course, it can just be that particular battery used in my initial H8 though. But I'm planning to use my OP6 for quite a bit so yeah, better safe than sorry (have it setup for 90% max also).
*
I change phones quite often so I don't really take care of the battery tbh. I overnight charge every phone I have and they all seem to work just fine. Which is why I'm skeptical that in 2018 smartphones are not smart enough to handle overnight charging, seems like a myth to me.

Battery health greatly depends on many factors, one of it would be your charge cycle. Its not being how long you have used your phone, its rather how many charge cycle the phone went through. If its not affecting your usage much, I dont see a need to get the battery replaced.
There is a gel type substance which is called the 'sealer' which is used to seal your phone once every part including the battery is put back in place. After the sealer dries up and settles on the internals of your phone, technicians will perform a pressure test on the phone to check for leakages. Im pretty sure outside repair shops wont be able to perform the same tests.
*
I can still get 5 & half hours to 7 hours SOT no problem, 8 hours if I really push it. But more SOT means less standby time.
I realised that my battery started draining a bit faster than before, which is why I downloaded AccuBattery to check the capacity. Since my phone is still under warranty and changing battery is free I don't mind changing it for peace of mind lol

TBH it's 2018 and there's still a lot of conflicting information about the true nature of what is "good" and "bad" about batteries so I can't say I blame you for being unconvinced.

For me, if not for that little Honor 8 battery incident I wouldn't have cared either.

Even more so that you change phones often. On my end I guess I'm more of a buy once use until break in half type of guy so its probably a bit more relevant to try to stretch the cell lifespan like that.
*
We have in display fingerprint sensors, triple rear cameras, we even have nearly bezelless phones but nobody can confirm whether our smartphones are smart enough to handle overnight charging or not #facepalm

QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Nov 2 2018, 04:56 PM)
Your battery life sounds normal to me if you could still get 5 1/2 hours to 7 hours SOT. Im not sure if Mihan has this policy of replacing a worn out battery. Samsung does as I have changed my Note 8's battery quite recently but it was a known defect on the Note 8's battery. Never heard of this on the oneplus 6 though.
*
Yup it's normal but I used to get even better battery life.
I've contacted their technician and they said battery if still under warranty can let them check and replace. So I'll just bring it to them next week and see how it goes.

Haha.. Nola... I bought or change a lot of phones since 2014..i just kept opo as collection actually until this year. Now my main daily drivers are op6 and note 9...with the rest of the phones lying around hehe.. Eg s8 plus, s7 edge, axon 7 etc

To be fair, I do think 2018 cells are smart enough to be overnight charged lol. I do it all the time.

It's just that I don't think phone Manufacturers are motivated enough to make phones that have sealed batteries that are charge limited to 90% of their "actual" capacity (or in other words taking a 3600mah cell and artificially limit it to 3340mah) for the sheer sake of cell longetivity (vs runtime).

Unfortunately, for a 2/3-year cycle upgrader like me that's a bit of a pickle TBH, hence my choice for artifical charge limitation - even if the science behind it isn't entirely mainstream.

True, most phones nowadays are designed to only work for 1-2 years. Manufacturers hope ur phone kaput faster so they can take ur money faster oso haha

Actually, the Zenphone 5Z actually comes with something very similar to a "charge limiter" as part of the AI Charge feature - probably the only modern (kinda sorta) "flagship" to even attempt this AFAIK.

Which is rather fascinating to say the least.

I'm still wondering about dual-sim battery drain though. Any input folks? Is it considerably worse then running single-sim or no real impact?
*
Dual sim does increase battery drain for sure. I was testing umobile sim in June & my standby time decreased quite a bit.

Anyone on the latest update and using the gesture is having this issue?

Its intermittent and i am unsure what did i do specifically to trigger this
*
Fine on my end. Some people have been complaining about keyboard bugs with the new nav method but so far so good for me. In fact I really enjoy it, smooth and 0 bugs.
Maybe try wiping cache?

Apart from the bug i screenshot above, I also face intermittent keyboard bug like u mentioned. I have wiped the phone's cache and the oneplus launcher app's cache but the problem persisted.

Then i switched from nova launcher beta prime to oneplus launcher and so far they are gone for the last few hours. So i guess the bug has something to do with nova then. Now everything is smooth and 0 bugs touch wood
*
as far as I know, custom launchers doesn't work well with Android pie on OP6, I think it's because of the recent app menu animation. Even when using the pixel pil nav method u can see the animation when switching apps is not smooth at all. But if u use stock OnePlus launcher the animation is perfect.

Huge fan of this black Matrix Dbrand skin. Looks really good but not very grippy. I still prefer their black dragon skin for better grip.

any place in KL selling OnePlus 6 full screen tempered glass? thanks guys

Just get the official tempered glass from Lazada OnePlus store. Yes it's expensive but it's definitely worth it, best tempered glass for the OP6 out there.

I bought on 17/08/2018 with price tag of RM2,899 MiHan set 128gb. Alot free shit but your price for 256gb so much more worth it la
You can get cheap ones from Ninjaz or Login Gadget if you don't mind the sides did not cover full. Most of the times they gave free. I never paid for my 3T screen protector  biggrin.gif

Oneplus 6T comes with +1 year warranty like Oneplus6? or no?  hmm.gif
*
I've tried many types of sp, cheaper ones without edge coverage, film typle ones, 2 pack ones from Orzly and still the best is the official tempered glass. Mainly because it feels really premium and smooth, it's worth the money tbh and can use for very long provided it doesn't crack.

I assume 6t comes with extended warranty, just need to email mihan to register for it.
