Yes, that's what I experienced previously before completely slow charging right now.
Oh man, I just tried to connect to the PC and it can't detect my phone.
Do you know how long and cost to replace the USB port?

Mine was under warranty.
Take 1 day if got spare parts.
I sent on Sat around 11am due to half day, I only manage to get it on Monday.

EMUI 10 update for P20 Pro now expected to be in mid June pulak..
*
This is the strategy, keep postponing until 2-3 years of product launch. Then this will be the excuse not to update anymore.
I think Samsung did that in the past.

Just got the EMUI 10 update on yesterday night.

Apart from the UI graphics update and better dark mode, the biggest improvement I noticed is the wifi speed.

I used to get maximum dl speed around 3XX mbps on AC router.
After update I'm getting around 436 Mbps and this seem like the correct speed for AC now.

got the notification this morning. any issues so far?

how's the battery life?

my other phone is Mi A2 Lite. it got its Android 10 update recently and gave me battery drain issue. They fixed it now, though.... but it got me worried a bit about this EMUI10-Android10 update.

For comparison, my A2 Lite is a "lightly" used phone, which used to go at least 3 days before needing a charge. My p20 pro is my main phone, normally requires a charge by the 48th hour... sometime if I just stay home and use the wifi, this stretches to 3 days also. SOT around 5 hrs minimum to over 7 hrs (obviously this is when I stay home only using wifi and even having airplane mode turned on occasionally).

However, after the Android10 update, my A2 Lite wouldn't last ONE day - not even 24 hours. That despite the lightly use scenario. Though, I'd stress again, it is now fixed and can go three to four days before needing a charge.

Battery life, don't know yet.
Lately work from home, so more often on chat thus heavy usage, cant comments.
Feel the same at the moment.

Just updated from yesterday night. No issue detected so far.

How it takes to replace the P20 Pro battery? 2 hours?
*
With RCMO or CMO, I think it will be 3-5 hrs due to queuing.
Do call service center to confirm first.

A week ago, I print my Mediapad to center and after queuing for 1 hrs+, only to find they don't have spare parts.
Will call if they have it later in 2-3 weeks later. I still hope they will come back to me, which I doubt so, they don't even raise any ticket in the system.
She just write something is a small piece of paper.

Will test later. I notice mine was charging quite slow too

Seem like your phone charging port or cable not in very good condition there.

Try power off your and let it charge? Last time my p20pro have something like that, couple of times that I tired charging with phone off somehow reset it back to super charging.

However, eventually it failed to continuing super charger mode due to charging port do have issue.

You can try to connect your phone to PC, if it still can detect by your PC for file transfer then it is not port issue.
If cant, mean the port's data pins maybe in bad condition already.

This... normally I'd like to charge my phone overnight, so slow charging is ok for me. besides, like stated above, nowadays got many fast charging wireless phone and pads.

another thing, i don't really like super duper fast charging... p20pro's supercharge rate is the fastest that i'm comfortable with. say what you will, i still feel fast charging will wear out the battery faster.
*
I think wireless charging will wear the battery much faster due to heat.
The whole phone run hot when charging on wireless.

Perhaps if have concerned with connection, ai recommend to look for those magnetic connections, But tt leave the small plug on your phone.

I didn't use any, but come to this topic, I m considering and FYI my p20pro usb port has been replaced before. I think huawei usb port reliability on early batch is kind of meh...

Anyone here using a type-c splitter? Does it support supercharge as well?
*
No for me.
I connect to multi function adapter with usb c that supports charging function.
It only gave me normal charging.

Maybe ur case not so extreme.

Are you always only charge your phone when it is almost empty or low %.?

Modern lithium battery life reduced significantly if you always use below 50% and always keep charging above 95% for long time.

Does anyone backup your data via HiSuite in pc? Tbh mine is working fine till date.

Feel eventually one day it will kaput. Was thinking of backup to migrate to either apple/android. Not too sure on the compatibility.

It's a pity it does not support google. Else it is a no brainer for me.
*
I tot HiSuite is only for Huawei phone.
If you are planning to migrating to another brand of phone, I would suggest you look for 3rd party app or Windows application.
Going to apple normally involved some challenges and payments.

Good luck.

After update, battery consumption very high? After update the version, my wife took my phone to order foodpanda. Was 34%, after order, 23%! Need to monitor for a while, since after update many apps are optimizing.
*
I also think, it is time for you to change the battery if you haven't change before.
My p20 pro was draining fast when running with apps after 2yrs+ usage. Few months ago, I changed and confirmed my issue was due to battery.

So long story short , it might be battery reaching EOL. Try remove your phone from casing and observe carefully if the LCD screen is being push away by the swollen battery or not.
