We all knw that the Putra is one of Proton's best car if not the best...
It's 10years now since it begun production...
It's common to fit a MIVEC engine in...
I'm wondering...
Is it possible to fit a Honda 1.5 iDSI engine with 7-speed CVT gearbox into the Putra/Satria???
Is it legal??? brows.gif
I knw JPJ allows increase in engine capacity (eg: 1.8 > 2.0), but does it allow engine downgrade (eg: 1.8 > 1.5)??? blush.gif

Nope not legal because you have to mod the mountings to fit. JPJ sure will not approve

And u cannot increase ur capacity to 2Ls anymore except for Perdana, if engine downgrade, why? You already have a 1.8L DOHC NA underneath the hood, a good engine for modding.

OIC...
Well, I like to drive efficiently...all the power the engine makes is wasted...so, I prefer having a good fuel economy... That's the main reason for the Honda engine... biggrin.gif

ya lo... city's engine may be fuel economy in a city, may not work tat way if put into a putra, u must consider the power to weight ratio,

The good thing for bigger cc engines is that you can get high torque at low rpms, good for cruising around the city as oppose to lower cc that needs to rev to get power

4g18 also cannot fit inside putra mah... coz engine mounted the other way round... means timing belt on driver side.....

besides, why u oledi have 1.8 wanna downgrade to 1.6??..

TS, best solution if u want the look of putra and less fc, go get 4g93p sohc.... it has reasonable torque to pull u around... vr good fc (according to a 4g93p sohc user in a satria)....

besides, u'll get extra money by selling ur 4g93p dohc to 4g93p sohc... the extra money can go into petrol or ur galgal.... tongue.gif

fyi, dohc has better fc than sohc .. lol ..try google around ..

if u really wan fuel economical then just downgrade it lol ... btw 4g93p is a good engine ..its fc is not high .. i got rm10 to go for 70-80km ... what is ur fc ?

if just for cruising, 1.8 SOHC can get the job done since the torque is high, not necessary DOHC is better in some cases.

with a 1.8cc the torque diff is not much on both sohc and dohc ... so i opt for dohc interms of efficiency .. juz like solo core and duo core lol ..

btw i m using sohc hehe .. tats y we can see some car likly to be 1.8cc above usually opt for dohc while lower than tat got variations of sohc and dohc ..
