Hi,

Just tested out camera on the HTC TyTN II.
Seems to be a bit laggy (i.e., the refresh rate was quite bad) when compared to the HTC Touch (and any other phone cameras)

Is this the norm ?

Thx

It is not that other thing are using the processing power, it is the camera itself. It forced to enter night mode when it detect the light is low, and I think it is a bit too sensitive!!! The only time I think it works flawlessly is using it outdoor!!! Even with the flourescent light, it will still enter night mode.

hiikung, this are some scenario of my battey usage:

About 10 SMS, 20-30 minutes voice call each day, no wifi, no 3G (may be a few second just to update weather/MMS), I'll have about 20% battery left on the second day. 20% is not enough for the next day use, so I'll drain the battey and recharge it.

I tried GPS continuously for 1 hour+, with no call/sms/anything in between, it consume about 20% of battery.

Once, I have 25% at the morning, still can hold until I'm went home at the evening, with 7% left. Similar to laptop, the last 10-15% last longer, especially the last 3-5% (The battery use the same material after all).

I had been in a place where it is the boundary of HSDPA and 3G coverage. I have things to do and keep walk in and out of that area, and it drain my battery a lot. My phone status must be keep changing in between H and G.

Lots of mixed usage. Call, 3G, Video Call, Movie, Music, Camera, install application (I turned on "do not charge the battery when connected to the PC"), GPS, etc... explore the whole phone, try everything. It last about 9 hours, from full to empty and it was the first use after the overnight first charge. That was my second day with it.

yeah the camera was like too sensitive.... when it exposed suddunly to bring light or normal light in dark place it sometimes tend to stuck/lag/hang for a while before they try to reduce it to an ideal mode.... its almost like the camera have a auto ISO adjustment with initial 1600 then too bring and try to adjust to 800 or 400 lol

the camera juz simply need some time to adjust itself... sth like a sleeping man juz woke up suddenly saw the sun striaght to it eyes lol!!!

overall im still not so satify with tytn2.... but i still can live with it so far... lolx

The mapking r12 need sometime to log to satelite. That is why take longer time compare mapking 2007. For navigation, the mapking 2007 will have some delay to update your position. So maybe you will miss a juntion if you travelling fast.
Both software can be use if you just want to find a place. (strandstill) Pros n con.

Can i install both mapking 2007 & R12 & switch when the other fail to capture signal.. it wont clash the system rite..
My mapking 2007 failed on me again today..the whole day i've been trying to capture satelite signal and it just wont happen. Mapking 2007 is not like for u to use 1 month then u can't get the signal rite..
Btw, will the phone signal affect the capturing rate for satelite signal? like when your phone signal is weak then is harder to get the satelite signal..if to get Cell Atenna is to boost up the phone signal rite, wouldn't that means it also boosting the radiation too.. but if that can help up with the gps signal..i might consider

Try to limit heavy multitasking & reset once in awhile to free up the RAM

Don't frequently drain your lithium battery. It does not work like nickel cadmium or nickel metal hydride type, where discharge is necessary. The more frequent your lithium battery near to 0%, the shorter the battery life will be.

Find the MPAking card that comes with your TYTN. There is a registration number there and go to the website, follow the instruction to get the registration code. you can register one map for free. I have both Mapking and Mapking R12 installed. Somehow, nowadays, difficult to get a lock.
