This is one of the latest device from HTC - HTC Kaiser
Just like HTC Hermes + GPS
It even includes a 3megapixel CMOS camera and the screen can be tilted to make it easier to read. Besides that, the SIM cards are hot swappable. Perhaps this device will replace Dopod 838 Pro .

It has everything you need, the ultimate connectivity device. I believe soon Dopod will bring this device in perhaps under the brand of HTC as Dopod is now acquired by HTC

QUOTE
Whoa, what's that HTC Kaiser doing there? Don't whip out your Wizard or Hermes and try this, folks -- you'll only end up with tears and a broken Pocket PC -- it's a hot new trick HTC's Hermes follow-on has up its sleeves. Besides the wacky flip-up action, the Kaiser ups the camera to a full 3 megapixels (an extra million pixels over its predecessor), adds HSUPA support for crazy fast uploads, GPS, and the now-obligatory Windows Mobile 6 Professional. No word on release, but we know with certainty that HTC wants this thing in users' hands in 2007, so we'd expect it to start showing up on European networks before too long. Click on for plenty of gorgeous photography.

Should be cheaper than U1000 but more expensive than 838 pro, and 838pro price should drop down by then.

If those people can afford U1000, those are the same type of people that will want this.

If only the GPS for 838 pro can be unlocked, this device wont sell at all !

Perhaps it would not be approriate to judge the speed by the clock rate. We still need to wait for some reviews.

Just like last time when AMD processors with lower clock rate can match the performance of Intel processors with higher clock rate

no lor, for PDA its quite easy to judge by seeing clock rate. if its 300Mhz PDA then can play games easily, like my Hp Ipaq 4150. But PDA phones need a MINIMUM of samsung 400Mhz for good gaming.

Added on May 30, 2007, 6:05 pmMy dopod d810, certain games also cannot play leh.

Added on May 30, 2007, 6:05 pmnot many. so far 3 games.

MSM7200 use arm11 processor where all current wm device processor are using arm9 processor, i think it would be a major improvement on this processor..

finally someone created this thread...

U see, the new qualcomm board, the MSM7200 has almost everything integrated including GPSOne.
i went through some of the schematics..

found out that this chipset is actually a dual core chipset..
a 384MHz ARM11 proc does application processing and another 274MHz ARM9 proc controlling modem processes and also accelerates application processing....

so its not just a plain vanilla 384mhz proc...
i'm really looking forward to this PDA phone... everything built in...

hopefully dopod will announce a rebranded version around Q4...

Definitely my next pda phone to replace my 838pro. Only regret is it doesn't come with VGA, unlike the one from Toshiba. whistling.gif

Perhaps this is HTC marketing strategy, after HTC Kaiser, perhaps they will release another PDA with VGA. Like this only can profit more

I'm quite inclined to buy this when it's launched.

But with Nokia E90 on the verge of being launched as well, it's going to be a tough choice. tongue.gif

Symbian is good, but you have more freeware and things that can be done in WIn Mobile. Hope GPS module works well. E90 is also nice but a bit bigger. In fact looking closely at HTC Wings if Dopod bring it here to our shores, basically the Dopod C500 but with 3G, HSDPA and GPS. Life's getting better......... brows.gif

But HTC Wings has smaller screen, I think GPS is much better on a PDA device with large screen.

I'm OK with all platforms, and am comfortable with both to the extent that I wish to own both platforms at the same time as each has its strengths and weaknesses.

Definitely. The larger the screen, the better. smile.gif

Hmmmm, i'm still scared even if its a special processor. pda gaming is my life hahaha, so maybe i wait around and see what happens. i'm broke anyway, and still very happy with d810. also, if it is, IF, it is very powerful, then must consider battery consumption too....especially during gaming again haha

Lol, are you trying to safe your face for posting up wrong infos earlier on?

Look, the people who built this device have brains. For a device that has all connecitivity + GPS, what kind of processor do you expect them to give?

seems to be that way....

anyway, this phone, is really promising. Everything built in.. EVERYTHING.. expect the price to be like low-mid range laptop...
i'm speculating around the 3.5k area possibly around the 3800 figure since dealers like the number 8.

But my bet is it wouldn't be long for HTC to release a similar device with VGA screen. ( I'm not talking about Dopod U1000 )
