They kept promoting this tagline ---> "RM69 for RM400 worth of quality"
I'm wondering if it is legit... hmm.gif

First batch estimated shipping is 20th Sept. So no one has received their shirts yet. I'll report back when I get mine.

You do know it is common practice to inflate the price tag and then offer huge discount, when the after discount price is probably still includes 200% (arbitrary) profit margin right?

For RM400 you may get a very high quality bespoke shirt made in a tailor in Malaysia. If you look at tailors at savile row, the price point of a bespoke shirt (shirt, not suit) are just beyond normal Malaysians reach.

That being said, most of the ready-made shirts available in departmental stores in Malaysia are around RM69 and above. I hardly see anything less than that. But you see, the oxwhite brand are also factory made, not bespoke. So I pretty much expect similar quality, maybe a better cutting to suit the current trend compared to those in parkson or isetan

I have received mine..

Not bad quality for 69 bucks don't think its worth 400 as you can get tailor made for that price with better material.

Got mine yesterday as well. I concur with your opinion.

Just want to add that if you compare strictly factory made RTW, you might not be able to get this quality at 400.

Their claim about their shirts being made from 100% Supima cotton makes me extremely skeptical about their honesty. There are even different grades of Supima, but no one ever pays attention because its become something of a marketing buzzword.

Most of the glowing, long-winded, in-depth, essay-length reviews on their fb page seem to be fake or paid for. If you click into the fb profiles of their reviewers, they have shared multiple posts about oxwhite shirts on their timeline every now and then. Who the hell does that after only buying one shirt?

i had done my pre-wash review:

🔸Packaging: The first surprise-shirt come inside a signed cotton box, underneath is the shirt that wrap very nicely and with much care, it looks even more exclusive than my recent order from Mr Porter.

🔸Material: The shirt as mentioned are woven with Supima Non-Iron, which felt very smooth and firm, it could probably maintain that nice shape for the entire day out. The Fabric is slightly in a thicker side, but which is very good especially in a white shirt. Quality can be felt immediately, and the sewing is pretty nice and neat, not to be perfect, but is good enough to the price point.

🔸Fitting: I’m ordering Slim Fit sizing, and it fit very well to my size, nicely through the body without excessive fabric on the side, though the width of the collar might be slightly narrow for me. The length of the shirt is nice for tuck in with some buffer to avoid shirt come out easily. Arm opening is just good, no excess fabric under as well, and it doesn’t restrict your hand movement.

🔻Con: The plastic collar stay is sewing inside the collar, non-removeable, which i prefer it to be instead,in a collar stay pocket.

🔹Verdict: I have done some comparison with my current shirt- Uniqlo Super Non-Iron, G2000 Wrinkle-free, Banana Rep. non-iron: which could be easily cost double the price but it doesn’t seem too far from the build/quality and Oxwhite win in the fitting. I’m slightly skeptical about the claim of this it is a RM400 luxury, but if look on the price they offer-RM69, it is a steal!

I dislike the way it's being marketed. Kinda like how I dislike how fitgear is being marketed where they like to "put down" other brands way of doing things.

Oxwhite long sleeves, sleeve length is a little too long compared to Uniqlo. Anybody has any problems with Oxwhite having too long of a sleeve.

oxwhite size chart
VS.
uniqlo oxford slim fit long sleeve shirt

For example, S size, the sleeve length for..
Oxwhite is 84cm
Uniqlo is 60cm

In fact all sizes of oxwhite, their sleeve length are 80+cm. Whereas for Uniqlo, theirs are only 60+cm

Nope. Their sleeve length is fine for me. Uniqlo dress shirts sleeve length are too short for me. Buy what fits you.

There's 2 measurement stated in Uniqlo: sleeve length from centre back and sleeve length from shoulder. Ox White only measure from the centre back. This would explain the difference in length.

Just wanted to add my 2 cents. My biggest gripe about this shirt or rather the marketing is the "non-iron" aspect. This shirt is in no way at all "non-iron" and I will even say it takes longer to iron compared to my regular shirts (i.e. without "non-iron" marketing bs) as the wrinkles are extremely difficult to remove.

I have seen others mention this in the FB comments as well and you'll usually see the Oxwhite admin and the founder posting different versions of comments as such:

1. Even RM400++ shirts from XX brands require some ironing
2. Oxwhite shirt only requires 2-3 minutes of light ironing.
3. Show you a Youtube promotional video of a guy casually taking his shirt out from his luggage and ironing on the bed.
4. Tell you that if you have no iron while on vacation, just leave it in the bathroom with shower turned on so that the shirt will absorb the moisture and auto smoothen (BS of the greatest proportion)

All i can say is No 1-4 above are BS. Even when I handwash it, it still requires a fair amount of ironing. Whilst from the above it may seem that I absolutely hate the shirt, I have to say that RM69 for what you get is pretty reasonable. I like the material even though I have absolutely zero knowledge if its real 100% Supima cotton, i mean it doesn't matter if it feels good right?

The slim fit to me is not really that slim fitting, even for someone with love handles like me, I still feel there's excess cloth around the waist (while the other parts fit just nice). So all that talk about measuring the proportions of 70,000 men to come up with the perfect fit is either BS or Asian men are generally wide around the belly.

I would also like to end by saying best to get real world usage opinions rather than read their paid reviews or interviews. I have seen the Vulcan Post's rave review, but did you see the picture of the reviewer with the shirt on? IMO, it was so baggy he could barely take a picture of himself without the box or his cat blocking a part of his body and yet claimed it was a perfect fit. Maybe he truly has a very different definition of perfect fit.

TL;DR - Non-iron is BS, slim fit is not really that tapered, material is nice for RM69. Don't believe paid reviews. Not worth RM400 but would buy again at RM69.

1. Non iron doesn't literally mean non iron, but perhaps easier.
2. Most men wear shirts way tighter than it should be, so the perception of slim fit is very subjective here.

I'm in no way defending them at all but they've done a great job at marketing their BS. That piece of shirt is in no way worth RM400, at all. Fabric probably from an unnamed cheaper mill, plus mass produced ready to wear garments. Economies of scale.

All that Saville Row research is a whole lot of BS.

I have worn my oxwhite M size for 2 months and I do agree to you in every aspect. The wrinkles are very hard to be ironed out, in fact I never got a perfectly wrinkle free oxwhite after washing it. I have a very good (and expensive) iron and board, other brands like Sacoor's 100% cotton I can iron easily and no wrinkle after that. But for oxwhite, I always get wrinkle which is frustrating.

As for the fit, I am moderate size at 173cm, consider skinny fat with small belly. The M size fits my shoulder and arm length but too much excessive fabric on the torso. It looks like I am wearing 1 size bigger but I am not sure if S will fit my shoulder (can't try).

My verdict is that if you don't mind having micro wrinkles and if it fits you well, by all means go for it. Still a cheap price at RM69. However I would not consider it a RM400 quality shirt as they advertised.
