I'm trying to grow the bunga telang (Clitoria ternatea, butterfly pea, blue pea), I have the plant already growing, but I can't find anywhere a guide about how to trim it to boost the flowers production. Does anyone have some tips or links to share?

Speaking of climbing plant, there is a plant called cyclea barbata or green grass jelly can be seen at roadside or among the shrubs.

The leaves of this plant can be directly used to make green grass jelly and can be eaten raw. This green grass jelly is famous in vietnam and indonesia as dessert. But i don't see many malaysians aware of its usage.

Usually i pick the greenest leaves and wash, then slice the leaves and rub with some water. I put the extracted juice in fridge then after a moment the juice will harden by itself and finally becomes jelly.

Best to serve chilled with honey or brown sugar. Tastes like soft cincau but has a pleasant vegetal smell.

what about putting fertiliser?

Mine blue pea got tonnes of flowers, put fertilizers. Speaking of trim, i just simply trim weekly. Cut whatever I think out of shape.

What fertilizer are you using?
Is there a certain period of time to cut or whenever you want?

I let it grow without trimming for 3 months, now it has long wodden stick and few leaves. I trimmed half of the length but it's still too long, should i then cut almost at the base and let it grow again trimming weekly?

I get those organic fertilizers from the flower shops. They did have those lamb/goats' poo. Besides, I make my own fertilizers. I got some place where i put the dead leaves and some soil. My wife and I always kept those vegetables's leftover during cleaning/washing. Boiled it for 5 minutes and dump at the same place. Did you water daily? It is hot weathers few weeks ago. Only couple of days recently rain.

I just trim the new parts to avoid overgrowth to other side since mine quite bushy. Some vines I pull downwards to cover the area seems vulnerable. I am not expert. I cut when I am free or I think the flowers are overgrowth.

I'll use normal flower fertilizer then. I watered almost daily last week and it did few more flowers, now I'm watering it every 2 days.

Could you explain the process you follow to create your own fertilizer? My girlfriend is interested, would be good to be able to make some homemade fertilizer.

I am not expert, most information found on the net. My family is vegetarian, so we got leftover from vegetables, fruits and eggshell. That's all.
Speaking of compost, I boiled my fruits cause it attracts flies outdoor. So, I boiled it and buried in browns (weeds, leaves etc). Another is the I got the 5L drinking water bottle, stuff with fruits skins, and vegetables. Add more oranges and lemon. Need add brown sugar. Leave it for a year. Basically, my house got mixture of ways to use the leftovers.

Compost

Fertilisers by using eggs, banana and coffee beans (starbucks can get free I think). Not Starbucks lover but heard you can get for free. Never try.

Homemade Compost

i got this plant at home. you just need to water daily and it'll spread like wildfire. you need to put something for them to "climb' though. for me, it is my house fence lol

I put a fishline to climb, but I was away for few months and it climbed up, but the body is all wooden and few leaves at the top. Now I'm watering almost daily and I can see more flowers and few more leaves. I trimmed a bit but the body is very tall (2 mt) and I didn't want to cut too much in one time. I just cut probably 50/70cm.

I need your help.

the plant is full of very small insects with small spiderweb (by they don't look like spiders), they are very very small.
I don't know what happened and what are they, two days ago the plant was fine, today I noticed this and many leaves dry and falling. I water the plant every 2 days, it is on a balcony and takes also rain water (almost everyday now).

What kind of parasites are they? How can I get rid of them?
