Just realised about the changes to M2C now and I'm kind of in a panic since it's closed to month end again (meaning bills to pay!).

Payments from my M2C AMEX are for:-

1) TNB (about RM300-400)
2) Astro (about RM200-300)
3) Unifi (about RM150)

I've roughly read about reloadind the money to Boost using AMEX (on weekend?) then pay the bills from Boost on any day from now onwards to earn 5% cashback from M2C AMEX?

Please correct me if I'm wrong or suggest me alternative/best way to work around the revision. Thank you.

p/s: I do have PBB Quantum MasterCard as well and was planning to terminate it.

boost cannot pay tnb. unifi astro can be paid by boost but also by amex too.

alternatively, get uob yolo, pay all your bills via jompay, up to rm50 cashback with rm625 spending. just enough to cover your bills. the balance use your amex or amex-boost.

or online cb cards -> bigpay and pay the bills like tnb. no issue too.
or keep your pbb quantum mastercard. reload to bigpay. then pay your tnb.

Thanks for the prompt response.

What a hassle now, especially I cancelled my UOC YOLO a few years back when M2C made its return.

So, to recap, just pay Unifi, Astro, Digi & Maxis as usual during weekends using AMEX.

For TNB, IWK and PBA, just for the sake of simplicity, I can reload BigPay with my PBB Quantum MasterCard any day (online transactions).

By doing the above, I will be able to maximise the cash back from my CCs?

iwk cannot use cc. but iwk and pba can be paid using boost (iwk by scanning the qr code, pba from within boost app) -- so topup your boost app using quantum mastercard or m2c amex (if still left quota)
*
Ahh.. I forgot I've been paying IWK and PBA using my savings account. Sounds like too much work for these 2.

Thanks for your valuable advice! Really appreciate it.

I've just discovered about BigPay and just downloaded the app to apply for the prepaid card sweat.gif

Hopefully every thing can be sort out before my next payment cycle, which is normally 1st week of a new month shakehead.gif

Whats PBA?
I would pay Unifi, Astro using BOOST
*
PBA is water supply for Penang state.

Don't really want to download another App if the cashback from using AMEX for Unifi and Astro still valid.

So is it confirmed that bill payment (i.e. TNB) via Shopee with AMEX will earn CB now?

What do you mean by indirectly?

Can you please elaborate further?

I seldom use Shopee and I currently reload BigPay with PBB Quantum (Mastercard) for TNB payment to earn the cash back

Do we have to wait till our current credit card expires then only able to activate the "renewed" credit card that the bank sent to us? I can't seem to find anywhere to activate my soon to expired CC in maybank2u... already checked out Accounts & Banking -> all cards -> nothing... just the current soon to expire credit card with no button letting me to activate or whatsoever...
*
I have the activation pending on website but didn’t receive the cards yet smh

Mind me asking which month is your cc going to expire? It's so odd that I received mine but I cant find the activation button!

May I ask where did you find the activation icon? This is where I found via their website but I cant find any activation in my m2u account!

1. Go to www.maybank2u.com.my and login with your credentials.
2. Once you have logged in, click on “Accounts & Banking”
3. Select “All Cards”
4. Select the card you wish to activate
5. Confirm receipt of the card
6. Enter the TAC sent to your mobile phone number and submit.
Seems like smt is wrong with mine then...

1) April 22. I've contact the CS last month and they confirmed that my new cards are coming.

2) Under new UI, go to My Accounts, then under individual tab(s), you will see the status "pending new card activation". Then tap in the triple dots on the top right of the tab for activation (look for it in the long list of actions available).

Is AMEX payment to TNB via TNB app entitled for cash back?

read that somehow for PBB Quantum Mastercard, it's valid for cash back.

Is it still worth holding the AMEX card now?

Was thinking to switch to KrisFlyer AMEX instead

For weekend 5% cashback, it is still one of the better cash back cards out there. Just have to plan your spending around weekends (i.e. petrol, groceries)
*
Main bulk of the spendings are utilities that not entitled to cash back nowadays

Sad owner of FCB and AMEX card

is there a thread for Maybank VI? couldn't find it

Is it worth to dump M2C Amex & FCB and go all in for Maybank VI? Feels like it's better than Maybank World Mastercard which only awards airmiles. At least treat points can be redeemed for cash.

I'm not getting alot cash back from both cards, less than RM30 per month usually. However, I'm also not a frequent traveler but thought the treatpoints from VI is more flexible for miles redemption from different alliance + free lounge access, which comes in RM800 annual fee from 2nd year onwards.

Correct, if weekend got cashback, no TP. But utilities no cb anyway.
*
might want to go PBB Islamic Visa Platinum for TNG reload

then from there pay utilities ... 4% - 1% is still better than RHB Shell I guess since no tiered spending

btw for AMEX, Maxis, Unifi and Astro all no issues for cash back right?

If I pay water / sewerage bill through Lazada during weekend, I still can earn 5% cash back right? Would like to confirm on this.

Any workaround for TNB that I'm not aware of, since TNB is not an option on Lazada / Grab / Shopee?
