If buying straight from Shopee (not wallet) that is eligible for 5%?
*
Just called CS. Bought straight from Shopee (not wallet) MCC code under 5399 (General Merchandise Stores) which is eligible for 5% cash rebate.

*On a side note, if anyone is interested.
PSN store does not accept Amex card, hence bought PSN Top-UP from Shopee with Amex, which will entitle me to 5% rebate on weekend smile.gif

Hi. I am new to the cc stuff. Recently I just got my hands on my first cc, MBB 2 gold cards. I had it activated. But then when trying to make payments, it did not pass through. I tried the mastercard twice on two diff outlets.

Is there something I missed out? or better yet just contact the service centre?
*
If the purchase is within your credit limit, shouldn't be any problem if you activated your card successfully.
Best to check with Customer Service to find out the decline reason.

Hi All,

I am planning to convert a purchase later into instalment payment plan (IPP) via Ezy Pay Plus.
I need your opinion/advise on how to maximise the value of my purchase.

What Card - Maybank 2 Amex Card
Purchase amount - RM 5k+
Purchase Date - Today (Saturday)

b) The following transactions are not taken into account in the accumulation of Cash Back:
Transactions for Maybank EzyCash, Maybank EzyPay Plus, Cash Treats, Cash Advance, and Balance Transfer;

Question: Aware that the subsequent monthly IPP will not be entitled for Cash Back, but what about the initial purchase amount prior to IPP conversion?

d) The following transactions are not taken into account in the accumulation of TreatsPoints Feature:
Transactions for Maybank EzyCash, Maybank EzyPay Plus, Cash Treats, Cash Advance, and Balance Transfer;

Also for future reference, appreciate if you could enlighten if we will earn any Treat Points for the initial purchase prior to IPP conversion if we purchase this on the weekday.

This are some promos which i found, anymore you can locate/share ?

100% Happiness, 0% Instalment with EzyPay Plus - Definitely using this for IPP conversion

Daily Prizes up for grab Every Day - Yup, have registered for this

Get up to RM300 Cash Back With AMEX Credit Card - Not applicable to me as I'm going to purchase this on the weekend

Thanks all for your input in advance smile.gif

cashback/TP not applicable to ezypay plus installments, NOT the initial purchase which is not ezypayplus (post-conversion)

maybank promos are here https://www.maybank2u.com.my/maybank2u/mala...on_listing.page

Thanks for the confirmation bro. if that's the case, since my purchase is around RM5k, it should be better for me to purchase this on weekday instead, since spending this on weekend, i will easily hit the cash rebate cap (RM1000 *5% = RM50 cashback) where else spending on weekday there is no cap for earning points (RM5k * 5TP = 25000 TP)

Hi All,

Sorry if this has been brought up. Wondering if i were to purchase under Ezypay, will the initial lump sum transaction get any points/cashback?
I know that under Ezypay Plus's initial lump sum will get points/cashback, but what about under EzyPay (merchant Instalment plan) ?

If Ezypay is entitle, will this be applicable to maybank2u card and Maybank Grab card ? (sorry abit out of product topic)

Thanks.

QUOTE(leo99 @ Nov 2 2022, 09:45 PM)
Anyone know if when under EPP, if settle more than statement balance, will credit limit balance increase?

Say i take 5k EPP (417 monthly), credit limit 5k.
After 2 months i already paid 834, means now my credit limit is 834. If i pay 2k before 3rd month due, will the credit limit become 2834?
*
Your avail limit will increase but not your credit limit if you pay in advance.

Avail limit - can be used for lump sum purchases only
Credit limit - can be used for EPP purchases or lump sum purchases.

Assume credit limit is 5k and you take 5k EPP for 12 month (416.67 each month) your credit limit now is 0.
You can pay 5k upfront where your avail limit is back to 5k but you can only make lump sum purchases. Even when your avail limit is 5k, you can't make another 5k EPP purchase cause you do not have credit limit on your card.

The next month, when the first EPP is charge to your card, your credit limit will be 416.67, hence you can apply another EPP of that amount if you wish to do so.

Your credit limit will slowly increase each month when the EPP is charged to your card until the tenure ends.

Hope this clarifies for you.

I see. That means i can always pay more than my monthly EPP amount to increase back my available limit. But surely this available limit cannot be higher than the original credit limit given to me right?
*
Nope, you can always pay more even above your given credit limit. What you pay is what avail limit you will have. You just can't use it for epp if you already used up that portion amount.

Other than Petron vouchers, anything else that we can spend to earn M2 AMEX cashback?  hmm.gif

I guess the options are quite limited now.

Go jalan jalan during weekend
Seat Grab to destination and pay using amex, Buy movie ticket (TGV GSC), go shopping (isetan), pay for dinner at restaurant (if they accept). Pay my utility bill (Maxis, umobile). Buy in game currency in playstore.
Just have to find out which merchant accept amex then can fully utilise haha.

Online. 22nd Sept, pre-ordered and iPhone, it was a Friday though. laugh.gif But the first installment was charged on next day - 23rd Sept, Saturday.
*
You should be getting treat points instead since the initial transaction spend was not charged on Weekend.
Try to check your statement at the bottom and tally. You should have additional points from this purchase.

It's OK la, nothing much can be done. Lost about RM 23 cash back, it is fine.
*
I assume you derived RM23 cashback because you counted the installment amount (around 460?)

Actually the cashback is based on the initial full transaction amount (one time full cashback), instead of the subsequent monthly installment amount.
So lets say your iphone price is 5499, you would be getting the full RM50 cashback capped from this purchase if it was made on weekend.

Weekend max spending is only 1000 to get the max rebate. (1000*5%=50)
So sometime, it may be worthwhile to spend on weekday because treat points no cap especially for large purchases.

what's the different between these 2 ya?
Maybankard 2 Gold & Platinum Cards

I see that both have 5% on weekends and lifetime annual waiver.
What else is different though?
*
The travel insurance coverage

Other than that all benefit same as far as I'm aware.
Obviously the platinum card will have higher income requirement, and its black in colour (more stylish imo)

You may compare it yourself here

Thanks bro.
Can you clarify abit more on petrol and maxis ?
1. Do you TopUp to wallet to direct pay at counter/pump?
2. I tried paying maxis bill through apps, it doesn’t support Amex.
*
Hey Bro. You may want to check your maxis app again.
Have been paying using Amex for long time dy thumbsup.gif

ezypay plus (post-purchase conversion)

yes, can get cb for the initial transaction if falls on weekend.
*
Cashback quota finish already, so wondering if this also applies to TreatPoints (TP)?

https://www.maybank2u.com.my/iwov-resources...y-jun25-faq.pdf

T&C Q7 :
Are there any TreatsPoints granted under this promotion?
- TreatsPoints will not be granted for Maybank/Maybank Islamic EzyPay Plus/-i.

But I'm assuming they mean the subsequent installment amount doesn't get TP, and not the initial purchase.

dont understand

1. card benefit ... depends on it. usually just either cb or TP, not both even if you hit capped limit

2. yes, installments dont get any benefits.
*
Sorry, more context. Using Maybank 2 Amex, wont purchase on weekend as already hit my monthly cashback cap,
so will purchase on weekday instead to get some TP.

Noted that we will still get TP for the initial purchase, but not the subsequent installment amount.

Thanks for the confirmation !
