**gulp**

Maybank 2 Cards plus the supplementary cards...I guess I'm looking at RM100 Annual SST fee.

Wondering if it's worth switching to Petronas Platinum or FCB.

Thoughts?

depends on your needs. Maybank FCB only 2% (except May and August). Petronas visa ikhwan is 8% cashback on every weekends.

Yeah, that's right. I think I will first wait for announcement from Maybank before taking action.

I think the PETRONAS and PETRONAS IKHWAN card cashbacks and treat poings are only for weekends. I could be (and am probably) wrong.

Thinking about forking out RM100 is inducing knee-jerk reactions but considering cash back, treat points and interest from deposits, it all more than covers it and may be RM50 a year is probably insignificant.
*
for me it's simple. if you get cashback >RM25 per year, then keep it as you will still get more. But those dormant cards, I'd recommend to cancel them..

i'm planning to swipe my cc for deposit 10k downpayment (hotel wedding).
AMEX (5x TP) or FCB (2% CB) is better?
AMEX TP no cap right? Meaning I will get 10,000 x 5 = 50,000 TP
If FCB, only get RM50 max cb for that month.

Or do you recommend other credit cards?
Appreciate your advice biggrin.gif
Alot of swiping to be done for wedding cry.gif cry.gif

imo, depends on your cashflow situation smile.gif just my opinion la.

since wedding need multiple large payments, that means you need cash to be ready.

1) if you target cashback/points, you earn those but need to payback in full once statement is out. eg amex 5xTP (weekdays), gives 50k TP, can redeem for rm100 voucher. but remaining rm9.9k to be paid off soon smile.gif

2) if you target better cashflow, forego the cashback/points for the moment (still can use for eligible stuffs). target cards with 0% BT or 0% flexipayment. e.g. PBB Quantum's 0% 12mth Flexipay (min RM1200 per transaction to convert). u still get points from PBB cards, but maybe not that attractive. still can accumulate to considerable amount for your wedding expenditures though.

if you dont like "owing" money for too long and prefer to pay off quickly, then get the cashback/points.

just a simplistic view
*
thanks for the info. I also have PBB cards, but i do plan to use cb/points but stagger it by month to pay off slowly sweat.gif
Lots of spending to be made sweat.gif

I've swiped at 2 diff hotels and they allow to split the cards. So far no issues but dependent on the hotel.

I see no reason why they would stop you. I split 3 diff cards somemore.

which cc you used? just asking, if have better options, I can apply now hmm.gif

SCB Cashback to hit 1.5k
PBB Quantum for amount I want for 12 months 0%
AMEX the rest of it
*
I looked into SCB Liverpool CB, but it's hard for me to reach 1.5k/month to get RM50 (most of my spending are online biggrin.gif )

you are the boss. you can make demand.  thumbup.gif
my advise, since you are making BIG BIG payments, don't look into those small money.
instead, go for air miles game that can get you a pair of free return tickets for your honeymoon later.  biggrin.gif
bye and wish you find get the ideal card for your spending.  thumbup.gif
*
good idea! will look into air miles cc, do you have any recommendation?

Already swiped rm1000 on June weekend using M2Amex, if I were to reload rm90 to Grab on 30Jun 11.40pm n it is posted on 1July, will this rm90 get CB for July? The balance of rm910 will be swiped on 6July.
*
Yes I believe so. Happened to me few times but I didn't bother to call and ask them to revert to previous month's CB.

"shopee is so emphasis on shopee pay" has nothing to do with Maybank.  doh.gif

shopee runs their own business. Maybank run its own.
*
But paying (without shopeepay) is elligible to cashback right?

How to cancel credit card payment? I top up RM128 into my steamwallet but they block my acc and say fraudulent usage... Now waiting for steam reply. What is the step to reqiest cancel payment?
*
I think maybe Maybank block your Steam transaction. Try calling maybank customer service on the back of your credit card?

if I have refund deposited into my credit card, will I be charged if I withdraw the amount?
The amount is quite large, so I don't want to just leave it in the cc account to deduct my cc spending..
