about Maybank 2 cards, Can i retain  AMex and cancel Master card to save rm25 SST?
*
I used M2C since 2011. Last year called CS & they allowed to cancel.
But later they offered special discount rate to deduct from treatpoint (if not mistaken 50% less points), so I've agreed to retain.
In fact I didn't use MC, only use Amex & other bank CC (UOB, PBB & Citibank).

May I know anyone used to try to pay GE insurance premium online using Amex on Saturday?
Is it eligible for 5% cash back?

Every month has to pay nearly RM400 GE premium.

Thanx!

Where do you pay your GE insurance?
*
Currently is auto debit by GE.
I plan to cancel that credit card & thinking to pay using MBB AMEX (if possible).

I've checked UOB YOLO and PBB Quantum, both no cash back for insurance payment.

Thanks for all replies here.

Update: I saw Maybank MAE App has option to pay GE through AMEX. I will try next week and update here.

Have you try it? Is it able to pay?
*
UPDATE:
Sorry, it didn't work. If you select MBB AMEX & GE Life, the system will show error message, something like "... this payment is not supported ..."
You can only choose MBB Savings Account to make payment.

I just double check PBB Quantum MasterCard, there is no exclusion for insurance payment.
I will try to make payment next month.

reload E-wallet, boost, bp include?  tongue.gif (like HLB one?)
*
No, ewallet is not eligible for 5% cash back (MBB AMEX).
Please use UOB YOLO Visa for TnG, Grab, Boost etc ewallet top up for 5% cash back.
Then use PBB Quantum MasterCard for BigPay cash back.

T&C subject to change ya!
Up to Nov 2020, above still valid.

Shopee now accept AMEX payment (saw it on 01/12). It's good news for MBB Amex holder.

Wonder whether it's eligible for 5% cash back if you make purchase on weekend (Sat & Sun)?
As I know, ewallet top up is not eligible for cash back (top up ShopeePay). How about direct purchase using Amex?

don't have. only annual fee.
*
Debit card is no SST.
Maybank only charge annual fee RM8/year.

In my opinion, BigPay is better than Mae because

#1 No annual fee
#2 Can top up via credit card (Mae top up via bank transfer/ ATM only)

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes, I've just called them, they said will replace within 7 days.

Update on Amex Paywave Location (Johor Bahru) to entitle for 10x Treatpoints

1. Aeon Permas Jaya - yes, accept Amex Paywave
2. Tesco Extra Plentong - yes, accept Amex Paywave
3. NSK Pandan - No, as the cashier requests to enter PIN
4. EconSave Permas Jaya - not accept Amex

Hi , sorry in advance if this has been asked before , so i just got approved for the M2C plat , so with both cards "pending activation" , can i just activate the Amex ?

If no , can i activate both and cancel the MC ?
*
I have cancelled the MasterCard last year (12/2020).
But in my Maybank2u still showing both cards icon with MasterCard showing "ACCOUNT CLOSED", only Amex is active.
Fyi, I've started using both cards since 2011.

basically now hard to get places to accept AMEX also. and the CB only applicable on Weekend, make it even harder.
*
Acceptable @ NSK, Tesco, Aeon, Shopee, Agoda, Expedia, MAS etc

QUOTE(ClarenceT @ Feb 25 2021, 01:38 PM)
Still a lot of places accept Amex, but there are too many credit cards and e-wallets in the market now, making 5% cashback not so attractive.
*
Yes, that's right. Now many e-wallets and other credit cards offer more than 5%.
Last time I spend average RM700-1,000/month on Amex, now hardly to reach RM200.

QUOTE(jackal75 @ Feb 25 2021, 01:57 PM)
actually i just love their free for live and can get travel insurance with air ticket purchase with the cards... just too bad now cannot fly.
*
In my opinion, it's worth to buy additional travel insurance on top of those given by credit card.
Usually I've bought either MSIG or AXA travel insurance (Couple or Family Plan). I used to claim big amount when my flight stuck in Athern, Greece.
From my own experience, travel insurance that bundle with credit card will only cover a basic protection.

I had zero transaction this monthly again, normally I was spending on TM/Unifi accounts.

I have a lot of alternatives now which effectively give >5% savings, eg SC (or other CC) - Grabpay - Epay.com.my (SC - topup Grabpay RM200 to get RM10 Grabpay coupon), Shopee bill payment with seasonal discount vouchers and Shopee coins redemption (25%).
*
Haha... same to me. Usually I spend a lot (using Amex) until last year.

Now,
Use PBB Quantum and Citibank CashBack about 2-3 times a week
Use GrabPay & ShopeePay almost everyday :-)

May I know how you grab ShopeePay 25% coins redemption for Bill Payment?

I accidentally overpaid my credit card with another 0 behind.  bangwall.gif
Is it possible to "withdraw" the overpaid amount?
*
I guess can't withdraw.
Last time Qatar Airways refunded me to my MBB Amex (if I'm not mistaken around RM3,000), I also used to talk to MBB CS. They asked me just to spend it ...
The problem is, Amex only gives 5% cashback on weekend, so it took me 20 weekends to fully spend it :-(
Usually on weekday I will use Citibank (10% cashback) or PBB Visa (5% cashback).

QUOTE(xeon1989 @ Jun 17 2021, 09:19 PM)
Confirmed with Maybank, cannot get back.
Now either use bigpay to withdraw money, or slowly spend the money...
*
MBB MC or Amex? If Amex can't withdraw to BigPay. My BigPay did not accept Amex.
Otherwise can spend on Shopee.

One cashback per customer only? I have 2 cards.

Is AMEX payment to TNB via TNB app entitled for cash back?

read that somehow for PBB Quantum Mastercard, it's valid for cash back.
*
AMEX no cash back for TNB bill payment.
Use PBB Quantum MasterCard and pay through MyTNB website (for 5% Cash Back), else use Citibank for 10% (on 01/06 or 01/07).

What do you means "No limit except Petrol"?
As I know refill Petrol on weekend is also eligible for 5% Cash back.

QUOTE(ClarenceT @ Aug 23 2022, 11:50 AM)
You can spend on weekday as well for unlimited 5x TP (~1%).
Eg I paid flight ticket RM6000+ on weekday instead of weekend.
*
Ya, I always use Amex to book on Agoda, you will enjoy extra discount (usually 7%) on top of 5% Cash back.

usually pay for bills via M2U, very good for hospital bills, f&b but acceptance is spotty, etc

unnecessary spending just to get few RM cb may not be good idea.

rm50 cb is a card feature, no need rush to maximize it every month. no one fighting for your share biggrin.gif
*
M2U > if select Amex as payment method, can pay TNB bill?
