Unionpay will overtake Amex soon in Malaysia.
Unionpay already become the largest card payment organization in the world, ahead of Visa and MasterCard.

Unionpay CC already available in Malaysia since ICBC Malaysia set up (a few years ago).

So far the only local back which has strong tie with UP is PBB.

UOB (Singapore) already launched Unionpay CC in Singapore, giving 2% rebate.
I won't surprise UOB Malaysia or any local banks in Malaysia (except Maybank) may issue Unionpay CC soon.

Yes. That is the case. Off topic but relevant, that is why i go to din tai fung, taste better and nicer and accept amex.

Dont forget you can pay your bills with amex too.

Yup I requested. No banks give u 2k limit or 1k limit. Affinbank one is lousy though. Must go branch to reduce. Phone call they don't accept.

Actually in other countries cc that offers cash back like MBB amex is few and far between. We can consider ourselves as blessed already.

Still can go to shopee to buy Bigpay/Boost credit and get 10% CB though 2-3% cost.

same, no more 1% cashback from Shopback for Shopee... got tons of rejected cashback but some got accepted (only 1 or 2 from same time window accepted)

mostly Tickets & Vouchers and Games, Books & Hobbies categories, last eligible for those categories was January 2019

I don't think credit card will be replace by others else visa, mastercard will bankrupt. Bank earn more money from credit card- late payment, finance charge, balance transfer, etc. Credit card feature such as cash advance if u need money emergency but u don't have cash flow is useful. Even installment payment to buy high price item, balance transfer ,etc.

Seniors know how to play safe,  abuse but doesn't look like abuse, so no case!
