I'm in the dilemma of thinking to cancel my m2cards.
I do love the Amex, but my another bundle master has 0 usage now, but will still need to pay 2xrm25 sst and there's no way to cancel 1 card only.
Think I'll need to cancel both before being charged sst by Jan sad.gif

The total CB that you'll get might be more than the SST...

Just cancelled mine too... remember to state the reason as "due to sst". Else they won't help you to cancel. (initially I said I'm not using it and they CS dont want to help me cancel. doh.gif )

anyone get the service charge waived? they offer to use 10k points to offset rm25, is that worth redeeming?

IMO redeeming with TP is more worth it than paying using cash, since if u exchange TP into vouchers means u use voucher wont get TP or Cashback.

Currently 500pts = RM1. So RM25 = 12500pts. So using points to redeem is actually cheaper.

Just visited a branch at IBM tower, they tell me amex no contactless. seems the staff not up to date?  doh.gif

Also, I did ask one of the maybankard centre what is the procedure to get the contactless version, she ask me to call the number behind card and say card pecah, but it will take time for them to send it to me and my current card will be cancelled.

Don't go to those normal banking branch... most of the time they won't know the credit card stuff. (not their area)

Can go to card center like 1U or The Gardens. But better call the call center and tell them you want to change the card to contactless... I think they should be able to change it for you. No need say card pecah. sweat.gif

This is sort of a loophole... just look at Airasia, charging the "convenience" fee.

I have feeling that it is not based on the MCC (too general). I think maybe they will hardcode the exception list based on the name of the merchant.

Do we get charged sms roaming charges if we get sms notification from bank when we are overseas?
*
Normally no charge for receiving, but will charge for sending. Better check with your telco.

Any extra charges from Maybank for using AMEX? Or just charge whatever displayed on the website.
