Nobody have ever got rebate for Bigpay/Shopee transactions from M2 Amex since Bigpay and Shopee were set up!

M2 Amex (Gold/Platinum only) weekend rebate - Online shopping is NOT EXCLUDED, I still get weekend rebate at PrestoMall (formerly known as 11street), AirAsia.com, MalaysiaAirlines.com, M2U Bill Payment - TM/Unifi.

I didn't earn any Treatpoints to top up Bigpay in Sept-Oct, you might have looked at the transactions from 8/7/19-28/8/19.

Though no reward/rebate on transactions, but Maybank Visa and Amex are still very good to top up Bigpay and Boost till 31/12/19. 

problem is most of us here already don't own the M2 master/visa card   
but good for those who do

Well, in the past, governmental bodies and utilities companies paid very low merchant discount rate (around the same merchant discount rate as now) to Maybank. For sure, the very low merchant discount rate earned by Maybank is never enough to subsidize the 5% cashback to be given by Maybank to Maybank credit card users. 
The difference is that the economy was much better back then. In other words, Maybank was in better financial position back then. That is why Maybank was willing to utilize its own money to provide 5% cashback for government service and utilities transactions, probably to entice more people to sign up and use Maybank credit cards.
Nowadays, the banking industry is facing tough situation, in challenging economic situation, made worse with declining net interest margin. With declining profits and possible further cut in merchant discount rate in year 2021, Maybank decided that it is not longer worthwhile to utilize its own money to provide 5% cashback for government service and utilities transactions.
It is just my unverified opinion. 
Disclaimer: I am not from Maybank. I am just an average credit card user not affiliated with any bank or fintech, who is forever thankful for the guidance given by many credit card experts here.

Others bank keep rolling ewallet campaign while mbb just wait for ppl to do real spending which in fact they still need to give out 5% and 2% as well…

Why not just push more ppl to spend with it rather than limit ppl to use it?

Ah even better.. Seems they’ve finally implemented that initial check and block. I forgot to add that Maybank doesn’t allow payments (at least from one’s CASA via M2U) that’s greater than the current card balance. So yeah, don’t worry about it. I do the same thing with other bank cards cuz cb etc.. And no issues thus far. Thankfully. As it all gets adjusted in the next statement.
