can anyone tell how frequent that asus update their phone ?

Was looking to buy Zenfone 8 once its released.

Any particular reason to get the Z8? Is it due to it's size and chipset combo? Perhaps there are better options out there for the same price... If we are looking at the OTA as priority, Sammy has a "guarantee" of 3 years major OS OTA... However, if we planned to use the device for less than 2 years, than, Z8 might be suitable (for its size and SoC)...

Yes,mainly the size and the chipset.The camera also looks good based from GSMArena test.Although other reviewer says that the camera is not flagship enough.Based from the night photo that GSMArena took,it seems great for me.

Previously when we owned the Zenfone Max Pro M1, in the beginning the updates were quite frequent mainly because it's running stock Android but after a year or so the updates started to slow down as well. Heard from a friend who owned a ROG phone that the updates are few and far between - probably not a good choice if frequent updates are important for you.

I think Asus update is getting very slow now a days ? Unless there are some major bugs or issue they will push a fix.

Previously tried the 6 and 7 flip. I would say the 7 is pretty heavy at the top area for the flip making it slightly uncomfortable to use. But base on the comparison on GSMarena i think the 8 skip will be the same.

I got it but before using end up sold to my tai ko @sonyclie77 haha.
Unbox charge the phone then actually is similar to the 7 pro i used last yr.
End up after selling the 8 flip i got the zen 8.

im using the zenfone 8 for 1 week plus....2 updates already hehe

Any comment for that phone, some youtuber mention battery drain is not good as others as this price range. I personally consider it due to the headphones jack and compact size.

battery is good. I havent recorded the sot yet. but it is good

For me the z8 i get around 4 hrs or so with around 15-20% battery without gaming on that phone haha.
I would say for a 4k battery is consider ok. Stand by i get around 24 hrs or more a bit

same...around 5 hours plus sot from 100 to 0 hehe
