this budget is around upper middle class level

lower working class is about 5k per month

i use to spend about 10k per month, eat anything anywhere go anywhere anytime in KL, so if you want to splurge can also blow your budget

Utilities a bit high. Insurance a bit low. And I think they're spending too much on car.

If u simply say like that, they won't care one. Even if they buy from u, later will relapse also. Usually works better among Chinese, or other races from middle to upper class.

If u find low income earners, high chance they relapse payment.

I'm not agent btw..

As a single female below 30 living in Kl:

Master bedroom: RM800
Car: RM600 (MyVi)
Petrol and LRT fares: RM 300
Foods: RM 800 (Cook by myself and lunch hour in the office)
Shopping allocation: RM 500
Insurance: RM 400

RM 3400 for living cost alone

Parents: RM 700
Gold investment: RM 1000
Education loan: RM 1000

RM 6100

My salary is 6800 so I can save around RM 700 per month for emergency saving. Need to cook more at home/bring cooked foods to office. I cant imagine people who already has children and how they spend their money

Saving but I consider that as future saving instead of "right now" saving. I will sell them all once I reach 2 kg/ 3 kg in weight

Ayam at a workshop earlier today about insurance and one of the fun activities we did was estimating the cost of living for a family of 4 in KL.

The family
- Family of 4 with 2 parents and 2 kids
- Parents is 40 - 45 y/o and both kids between 2 - 4 y/o
- Living in KL

Cost of Living Estimation
- Housing Loan RM 4000 p/m
- Car loan RM 1,800 /n (1 Honda Civic and 1 Myvi)
- Food RM 1,500 p/m
- Insurance RM 600 p/m (Basic Term Life and Medical Card)
- Utility RM 800 p/m (Electricity, water and internet)
- Grocercies RM 400 p/m
- Transportation RM 400 p/m (Petrol and toll)
- Nursery School for kids RM 1,500 p/m

Total monthly expenses: RM 11,100 a month

Is this accurate ah? Come give feedback yo!

if you're gonna be using LRT anyway might as well sell the car and use grab, or downgrade to a basic axia

and your phone bill, cosmetics, car maintenance comes from shopping budget? that's tight

I cannot sell my MyVi as my sister who's studying in university wants to use it for her final year project. Need to sacrifice a bit as a sister.
Phone bill only RM30 per month for celcom. My house already has wifi and it's free (included in rent already).
Cosmetics only costs around RM200. I only shop for clothes when necessary and most of the time I bought online. Not too picky with brands as long as the clothes and shoes are nice and pretty. Plus my boyfriend always gives me gifts so I cannot have new clothes anymore in my closet
