QUOTE(cybpsych @ Aug 25 2018, 06:21 PM) boost gain traction of course. but what is their gameplan for 2, 3, 5, etc years to come. Give Cashback to make it widely accepted such that the convenience is more important than the cashback. When they gain widespread acceptance, merchants cannot afford not to be on Boost, and that's when they get charged. I don't have a business/marketing degree, but I'm pretty sure that is the strategy. For now, I'd keep collecting cashback.

GoPayz?
What advantages does it have? If no clear advantages, there's no point.
Retailers and customers would mostly go for a few e-wallets, the most popular ones. Too many is not practical - just imagine a retailer's counter cluttered with QR code for too many e-wallets.

QUOTE(xperiaDROID @ Jul 8 2019, 06:54 PM) There's one huge advantage over Bigpay, lower withdrawal fee from ATM. Also, people can choose which card scheme they want, Visa/Master/Unionpay they got everything covered, with JCB coming soon as well. I'm gonna get either Unionpay or JCB when it launches. Wonder what's taking them so long... It's already July. My ATM withdrawal has no fees. I can choose Visa or Mastercard now. And most important - how good is their rewards/cashback? Not sure if we are on the same topic.

QUOTE(xperiaDROID @ Jul 8 2019, 09:43 PM) Because you're using a bank card and withdraw it from that bank? I'm talking about Bigpay charging RM 6 for ATM withdrawal, whereas it's only RM 1 for Gopayz... However other info about Gopayz is still scarce though. Well, yes, we need to know how innovative their marketing is before we can judge. But it's a crowded marketplace, and Boost is hard to beat for now.

QUOTE(kclamtarc @ Jul 8 2019, 10:06 PM) but i sense that the cash back reward of Boost is getting less and less attrative recently. Yes, cashback is getting less attractive. They are moving away from that and moving more into winning prizes, and one-off promotions. For now, they have the biggest market share.

QUOTE(Raexim @ Jul 9 2019, 01:28 PM) Currently the most probable ones to survive in the long run I think: 1. TnG ewallet - due to toll usage and quick payment (makes just about everyone that accept TnG ewallet to accept card payment) and offline availability (? I noticed that you can generate bar code when offline after you generated it once) 2. WeChat Pay - due to reason you mentioned and their smart order integration (?) Hope they don't fuck this up. They did fuck up before. What do you think? Doesn't look like it. TnG is mostly in the Klang valley. Too limited. WeChat Pay, low adoption rate - says this poll which I agree.
