I think both TnG e-wallet and Boost will be retained.

TnG e-wallet is owned by TnG Digital which is a subsidiary of Touch 'n Go Sdn Bhd.
Touch 'n Go Sdn Bhd is wholly owned subsidiary of CIMB Group Holdings Berhad.

While Boost is owned by Axiata Digital which part of Axiata Group.
Axiata Group majority shareholders are Khazanah, EPF and PNG.

My district own QR scan check-in doesn't work for my phone. Failed to register because unable to receive OTP.
Forced to use MySejahtera check-in feature as some merchants are transitioning to use that.
Hope more and more merchants will migrate to MySejahtera and dump the local district portal.

Huawei Pay Arrives In Malaysia, Available Only For Selected Huawei Phones

user posted image

uawei has announced the arrival of its contactless payment system, Huawei Pay, in Malaysia today. Partnering with UnionPay International and the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) to bring the new function to local shores, Huawei Pay is intended to provide an easier and more secure contactless, cashless payment process on selected Huawei smartphones.

Huawei Pay is housed within the Huawei Wallet app as one of its key services, and it requires an NFC-enabled (near field communication) phone to work. To enable and use the new function, you’ll first need to add a supported credit card to your Huawei Wallet app. Once done, you can then proceed to carry out transactions conveniently by tapping your Huawei smartphones to payment terminals.

As an introductory promotion, all ICBC UnionPay credit cardholders who register their cards with Huawei Pay between 12 December 2020 until 12 March 2021 will be able to enjoy up to 50% cashback for every transaction with a minimum spend of RM20. The top monthly spender will also stand a chance to receive prizes such as a Huawei P40, Huawei FreeBuds 3, and Huawei Watch GT 2E.

Huawei Pay was first introduced in China in 2016, and was eventually expanded to other countries including Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Thailand, Pakistan, and Russia. You can find out more about Huawei Pay here, or check out the FAQ here.

RinggitPlus Readers’ Choice Awards 2020: Affin Duo, Maybank, TNG eWallet Emerge As Big Winners

Favourite E-Wallet App In Malaysia: Touch ‘n Go eWallet (43.3%)
- As one of the three biggest e-wallet apps in Malaysia, Touch ‘n Go eWallet manages to win this category quite comfortably. TNG eWallet’s popularity stems from it already being a household name with a huge pool of users before e-wallets were even a thing, and to its credit, TNG Digital has built on that popularity to deliver a solid e-wallet app that – as you’ll find below – is both rewarding and versatile.

Most Rewarding E-Wallet App: Touch ‘n Go eWallet (31.5%)
- This is a more of a close fight, as GrabPay is a close second place with 27.9% of the votes. Despite not having a rewards system in place, TNG eWallet users appear to prefer the campaign-driven partnerships and enjoy discounts on popular retail and F&B outlets, such as Tealive, Family Mart, and of course, Lazada.

Most Versatile E-Wallet App: Touch ‘n Go eWallet (42.1%)
- A runaway winner for this category, TNG eWallet’s success here is likely due to the RFID integration, allowing users to link their cars with their TNG eWallet to pay for tolls seamlessly. It is easily the best feature of the e-wallet, with perhaps the Lazada integration being a close second.
- On top of that, TNG Digital has been hard at work to make its e-wallet more useful, via partnerships with food delivery services as well as parking payment options in popular spots.
