Just got the 500 Mbps upgrade this morning and now I am looking for equipment upgrade..

Current setup:
Ground floor:
- Main router TP Link Archer C2
- Wireless AC speed up to 433 Mbps
- 4 Gigabit LAN ports
- TP-LINK TL-WPA4530 KIT AV500 Powerline ac Wi-Fi Kit  (LAN endpoint 100Mbps connected to main router Archer C2)

First Floor:
- TP-LINK TL-WPA4530 KIT AV500 Powerline ac Wi-Fi Kit  (wireless endpoint)
- Wireless AC speed up to 433 Mbps but capped at 100Mbps because of the LAN port is only 100mbps.

What router did you guys use that can utilize the 500mbps via wifi and the coverage is strong enough to upper floor (3 bars and above)?

Surveying routers around since yesterday until today..

rounded down to these few good ones:
- TP-LINK Deco M5 AC1300 2 pack - RM555
- Mikrotik hAP - RM580
- ASUS RT AC66U - RM 625
- Linksys EA7500 Max-Stream AC1900+ Mu-Mimo Gigabit Wi-Fi Router (EA7500-AH) - RM 699

Anyone used these routers above? can help to do a quick speed test via wifi if you already on 500mbps?

Unfortunately not. The Archer C7 v4 or v5 will be stable, unless you want something better, like the Asus RT-AC86U, or cheaper option would be the TP-Link C3150 v2.

Boss, whats this v4 v5 about? i search on online shopping site all selling Archer C7... no mention v4 v5 etc.

I see the price diff bet C7 and C9 is about RM100, and C7 & Asus RT-AC58U AC1300 is RM60; is the price diff can justify the added stability and speed boost? I am waiting my turbo 300 from unifi, wondering which router to get.

Just call me bro will do lol. Anyway, TP-Link likes to release new versions of their routers, and then abandoning the previous version, and not supporting them anymore, unless you are in the US. Some of the online shops might have v2, some might have v4, and some might have v5. It depends on where you get it from. You have to ask the online shop what version is that, or go buy it in a physical shop, and see the version on the box. V5 and v4 is the newest one, and have hardware and firmware upgrade over the v2. If you want to get the C7, get it from OOKAS. They are reliable and got the latest version usually.

Yes, the price diff can justify the added stability and speed boost. You could get the C9 if you want, and that is what I recommend. But, make sure you get it from OOKAS, or if you want to get it elsewhere, make sure it is v5, which is the newest version, and have the newest firmware and better hardware. I suggest you get it from OOKAS.  Be aware that the v5 is using EU firmware, so you will get limited 5GHz channels.

Noted, many thanks Bro
