People give you advise out of good will because you asked for it. But by observing your replies, clearly your understanding about cars are novice level, limited at best. You really need to learn about cars, and the best way is to start with the free vios that you are having now. Mistakes made on the vios won't be that painful and you can stomach it easily. Consider at "school fees", and i went through that with a vios after getting pissed off with a workshop i trusted very much that turned out to be quite a 2 face.

But if you got f'ed up by some workshop wanting to take advantage of you, asking for help then won't do much good. German cars are sophisticated in their driving, and so is their engineering. If don't have basic foundation on car related knowledge, you'll have a hard time thinking through so many whys. You're in a very good financial position at such young age, many more here don't have that sort of privilege at the start of adulthood. Don't trash it unwisely, but if you want to YOLO, then, just get it done with since there is no right or wrong of spending your own money. And of good things/karma/good luck/god bless, your dream car that you picked up may be a good durable unit that don't give you much trouble that you heard of.

Hehehe, I'm certainly still pretty far from being that old but old enough to know how dumb and superficial kids nowadays are. I'm just emphasizing EXACTLY what YOU said, so if you don't like it, then next time think before acting up like some young hot shot.  Anyway typical of people who started this kind of topics, if still asking like this then actually they cannot really afford it. People who can really afford it NEVER need to ask such things coz have enough confidence to just go ahead and buy whatever they want, that's the real mindset of people who got money.

bro... careful for what u wish for. some people earning 150k+ a year still is finding hard to make ends meet, while some earning 60k+ a year is living happily.

personally, i only buy my car cash. From what i see, if you can't afford a car cash, you can't afford it at all. A car is the 2nd highest purchase in life,after a house..  and it is one of the most depreciating item. On paper, it a luxury car should be a NEED, not a necessity....

It's ok bro, he said has other huge source of income so SAP Basis is maybe just a side job that he will ditch in the future. I'd just need to watch out if got some Basis guy named Stanley comes looking for a job and driving a 328i F30.

like i said, why take loan for a luxury car, when it will just depreciate? You are paying interest to bank for nothing? Just for a exchange of a BMW ride.. that will have no value after 2-3 years... since u buy a old model....

just saying... Warren Buffett isn't a billionaire because of car payments... many other millionaires and billionaires in the world doesn't have fancy car payments...

And fyi, I did not trow my cash to get a car, if u know my car history, u will know i buy and sell car more often than a regular Malaysian.... The trick is, i buy it with cash, and it must be used, and  when i want to upgrade, it is also from Cash money.. nothing owing.. because owing the bank for a car.. u know, u can't change it anytime u like because of residual value and loans in the way...

Like those seniors in this thread, I am also 24 before,... In fact, i am just a few years older than you. Having all that income is a new high... but using it wisely...should be your priority, especially when you're young and can earn alot... imagine taking part of your life away just to get a bmw... and in future, that investment can turn into something bigger

At my current age, i have more investments and houses than most of my peers. What i see in all my peers in that year is exactly like you... they buy expensive car, lifestyle exaggerate because of it.. find it hard to cope, and then have to keep finding a job with X amount of pay to sustain their extravagant lifestyle....For me? i can just quit my job anytime i like... and go to UK and enjoy life... i have zero debts and commitments.. only have assets.

just check the tayar or squeaky brakepad.. he sure got no money to change those item 1.. easy to spot 

Owning a BMW 3 series isn't the end of the world... If u have extra cash to trow away, sure, go ahead and buy it. I already said it in my 1st post. Your income can maintain a 328i and put it on the road for many years to come.... But the question is, is it worth it just for a BMW 3 series? Imagine, paying so much for a normal bmw... By saving and investing for 2-3 years, maybe u can afford something bigger and more sporty in future. Just sit a normal basic car for now, put your earnings into investments, and use investment earnings to buy a luxury car.. Not saying a bmw 3 series is a luxury car, but with Malaysia tax system, anything more than a Vios is a luxury car...U want to live normally where 3 series is a normal car? go to Australia, UK or US...
few K here and there... adds up. This is what people don't see. For the same job in a myvi/vios.. it just takes a few hundred...

The math for owning 3 series bmw 328i?

calculate what tyre size and brand u would want to run on. Imagine 18inch, and michelin tire.. easily gonna cost u 4-5k. and will last 1-2 year depend on your driving style.

estimate about 3-4k cash for emergency fund that u have to top up once it is gone.

another 3-5k for insurance and roadtax.

total 1 year, u gonna spend about 9k if u no need to touch emergency fund, 15k or more if u need to repair somethin. This is not yet including installment and depreciation. That is rough cost... 15K a year. go tank it if uwant. 

even for my 2013 polo gti, i am tanking about 5k a year just for service and tayar alone... Soon the car will be old and unreliable, and for me to keep it on the road, it is no longer 5k a year, it will go up maybe to 6-8k a year....
