disable autoplay for removable device using software like tweakui powertoy
plug in and scan

if not you can still be infected with virus utilising the autorun.inf even when you only plug in the thumbdrive

edit:: and stop using my computer to browse your files. if i'm not wrong my computer will parse autorun.inf when you click on drive letter. use windows explorer instead
