 How do you remove virus from thumbdrive?, without affecting your PC

guys...anyone experienced cleaning up virus from thumbdrive? Just scared when the PC detects my thumbdrive, the virus will be passed before the anti-virus can clean the drive blush.gif

hmm...normally i would scan the thumb drive right after i plug it in... as long as you dont open the thumbdrive nothing's going to happen unless the virus is really really aggressive biggrin.gif

actually if u didnt open the thumb drive, it wont effect ur pc....
there isn't any other way tho

disable autoplay for removable device using software like tweakui powertoy
plug in and scan

if not you can still be infected with virus utilising the autorun.inf even when you only plug in the thumbdrive

edit:: and stop using my computer to browse your files. if i'm not wrong my computer will parse autorun.inf when you click on drive letter. use windows explorer instead

yup, using winXP. Managed to kill the virus before it affected my PC sweat.gif later scan PC just in case tongue.gif

press ctrl to disable autoplay, after u plugin ur thumb drive lol..ctrl if i not mistaken..

If you have updated your Antivirus software, it will scan the thumbdrive but just incase, disable the autoplay

plug in -> open my computer - > right click the thumn drive - > click on the antivirus(that installed in ur pc)

maybe u shud just install some antivirus like AVG. it will auto scan when u plug in. means before you open anything it will alert u, den u move the virus to vault.. den its all done and ready to use.

If your anti virus software is strong enough, it will deleted the virus upon plugged in.

 

Change to:
