I know how it feels uploading GigaBytes of data with STREAMYX 512kbps UPLOAD SPEED. When 3/4 of it finish being uploaded after leaving the system whole day, ERROR, lost connectivity!. No choice have to restart from scratch. feels like want to burn all UNIFI pole nearby the area.. seriously.

BULLSHIT!.

What we should do!?
I dont want to pay this expansive streamyx, none 4G provide give unlimited for home, except Digi Infinite (online subscribe)

to use 4G smoothly, I been thinking to buy Tri Band Repeater (2G/GSM, 3G/WCDMA, 4G/LTE) that cost me RM1200

or... use friend use, buy WiFi CPE, using 3GHz signal (so no one can hack) from friend (unifi) -> you

What i saw on my road, actually there FIBER available on the street which is just 700 meter away from me!!!

Jenjarom here been how many years still using screamyx. Recently their sales call me up after I keep spam request for unifi. They told me unifi available. But guess what.. It's copper unifi. And speed available is 10Meg only. My current package is already 8meg but it's tune to run at 10meg. Upload speed I know unifi lite is 5Meg. Compared to screamyx 512k but many complaints from users regarding unifi lite using vdsl plan upgraded from screamyx about unstable Internet. Lazy and stingy tm... Still don't want to upgrade my area with fibre. I think they only mini upgrade some areas without fibre to vdsl and consider upgrade already.

That's why i say.. TM is keep on expanding the unifi to places, but for the coverage area for that places will never grow..

but anyhow u still got 8mbps now, i just 1mbps max speed only. ARHHHH!!!!

and why copper fibre will be unstable?? i mean once they called "fiber" the cable will be fully fibre aldy right.. how come it makes with copper??

its VDSL2 half fiber half copper. copper speed degrades over distance. so the further your house from the fiber port/switch the slower your TOP SPEED will be. FTTx doesnt have this problem because its fully fiber connected.

According to my understanding.. vdsl isn't anything related with fibre or anything to do with fibre. Perhaps it's just my poor knowledge on vdsl. I believed that vdsl utilize a different hz and a more higher one compared to adsl. A higher frequency. Which means our normal screamyx modem will not worked anymore because it uses something differently although on the same telephone line. Because the existing copper line infra is actually capable to transmit higher frequency to enable higher broadband speed. But at the same time, higher frequency means more fluctuation in speed. This allows both side to project higher frequencies and at the same time introduce more noise since the spectrum seems wide. Whether the dslam is near to your house or not, it'll not be stable. You are merely subscribing to a service that's stable than wireless LTE/3G solutions but worse than screamyx in terms of stability. You'll experience high latency. This is the worse gimmick created by TM just to please our Communication Minister. To force screamyx users to subscribe to this shitty vdsl solution is not even a proper upgrade but merely making screamyx to shift to another worse internet solution. VDSL has existed long but to get it working requires quality infras. I last heard from some TM contractors, they're actually using WalaoWEI technology. You'll get the picture.

Within 15 mins awhile ago, disconnected a few times until no signal, then I switch off my modem and on again, same thing happen again. Any chances of increasing the upload speed pass the 512k limit?

The download speed is crap, even for 8mb, watching youtube also got problem, not to mention browsing my favourite website for news also stuck.

Still waiting for an available port since my house block already full. Other block still available. Complaned to tm and they have made report to HQ. Now i have to wait at least a week to get their response.

Is unifi like streamyx, if u know the technician for yr area can arrange to run yr own line? (Ofc with kopi la, this unofficial methods..)

In my opinion, if your area do not have any fiber facility, I would rather purchase Digi Unlimited RM 150, get a 4G router and share among all members in the house. It is much much better than Slowmix

This gobind really misplaced priorities. They should focus on accelerating subb rollout to rural and suburban areas (at least can 20mbps..). Now want to fiber all the way takes forever..

I agree with you, bro. Rollout SUBB for all areas in Malaysia, and then fiber.

Quite hard to push them, as currently streamyx listed high pricing.
Like me owned 4M about 4 year, other 4 year for 8M. no news for fibre or the unifi lite 10m....

after survey around my lorong, there 7 people want Unifi, proceed to take name, ic, address and package? and find more people?

If you need faster and cheaper, can complaint and switch plan to Unifi Wireless 10Mbps?

Your distance was far away from local exchange, maybe 4-8km and that's why only got 1M or 2M ports only.
Assuming if your nearby got Unifi, and you could find some neighbors who also demanded for it, then TM will come to you.
(Happened to me since 2 years ago after attempted 2 times by my own self.)

Need a repeater for that length.

Min 10 is required, more is better...

still need some time for survey, application, installation by phases, testing for 1-2 weeks, then even installed every weeks 1230am will refresh your line since it's was new coverage for month(s).

What's I'm tried to said, is do it ASAP as you could, months ahead to go...
