Hey guys, wanted to consult you on what equipment should I be getting for home (not planning to go gym) if I want to do more cardio, and hopefully do something to strengthen my lower back. Previous chiropractors recommended brisk walking (with some stretching). Is a treadmill, elliptical or stationary bike better?

Between the three I'd say stationary bike because it won't be hard on your joints. Find a stationary bike with a knob to increase the difficulty so you can progress steadily.

That's a good point! Or is there any other equipments you'd recommend for a diabetic with back lower back?

My work requires me to work very long hours in front of the computer, so once I hurt my back so bad, I was bed-ridden for 2 weeks. Now I've recovered but since then, my back sprains very easily, it's very fragile. But the main reason to get the equipments is really for cardio to help with my diabetic.

In this age, it seems as though everyone is becoming obese. Our lifestyles have become so lazy that our health has detoriated. We may look healthy on the outside but our inside is vulnerable to any disease. We need to encourage our kids to indulge in sporting activities.

Hmm maybe some light exercise 1st before you get a machine?
Some skipping rope will do also and going up and down stairs works too.
These are some cardio I've been doing and is quite good.
But of course don't over do it when you just start it out.

No machine needed for strengthening ur back, u just need a good postural control and home self exercise. Assuming u don't have other conditions, plank will be a good exercise for u to strengthen ur back n core muscles. But need to maintain neutral position, u can Google for the correct and ideal plank.

Trust me, I'm a physiotherapist.

Ooh planking helps to strengthen core and back? So basically I could just do planking and rope-skipping?

at home, i buy an indoor bike (claim lifestyle income tax) and i cycle 5km/day during weekdays only... lol
then i practise low carb diet (not keto diet), i reduce taking rice and sugar drink... still eat other things like normal

Me too. Yet I don't have an indoor bike. I've started with handheld weights. Also it's cheaper.

The best way to lose weight is through cardio exercises. Cardio exercises like running, swimming, jogging, cycling really induce stamina in a person and helps him lose weight. For a strong back you need to do deadlifts. Deadlifts are a really good exercise but you need to be careful doing it.
