Seems like majority of upgrades happening now are from 30>300 and 50>500. Hardly see people reporting 100>800.

No, TM will tell you that its unifi service is a triple play service that includes voice, internet and TV. Just get the cheapest unifi TV package, and then treat it as though your monthly internet fees are that much.

MCMC complaint made regarding having both Ultimate and Ruby pack.

They have removed Ruby pack but at the same time reduce my discount to:

Promo Discount RM150
Promo Discount Perpetual
UniFi Special Discount RM20

Yes, remove Ruby pack should have reduced monthly bill by RM30 but they have also deducted RM30 from the UniFi Special Discount, so in other words no changes to monthly bill.

So yours also show the same RM150 + RM20 discount now? I’m not sure what else can be done, as telling them that others have gotten the pack removed and yet the discount was not revised does not help because they would require you to provide the account number of this account for checking. I believe nobody would want to disclose their account as TM might “fix” this issue on their account.

I believe TM are aware on this loophole and probably have sent out memos to all relevant departments. If they remove any of the tv pack, they should also adjust the discount amount so that the monthly fee remains the same, as per what I experienced 2 days ago.

I believe the upgrade is not by area in this case, instead it could be sorted in order of service start date, account number etc.

Fellow forumer @nikrizal (who has contacts with TM insiders) mentioned upgrades that involve equipment replacement (essentially older routers or BTUs) will commence Jan 2019.
On the other hand another forumer posted his router supplied by TM is the Dlink WBR2300 which doesn't support turbo speeds, but he was just turbo-ed from 50mbps to 500mbps.

Could also be that TM will still proceed with automatic account upgrade but since the equipments are old and needs replacement, it will only be replaced from January 2019 onwards.

Sharing my story that happened last month.

Live chat told me the same but then another department handles the modification of an account. My report was pending for a few weeks until one day they removed the Ruby Plus pack but I did not get a reduction of RM30 as they adjusted the discount amount. So I’m still paying the same monthly fees.

Questioned them why it wasn’t as per what I was told by live chat, they answered me that my package supposed to be RM189 per month so there will be no reduction in my monthly fee, they only remove the redundant Ruby Plus pack from my account and adjust the discount amount.

Not satisfied I filed a complaint on MCMC, conclusion in the end was TM replying back saying RM189 for 100mbps is the lowest that they can offer. MCMC also could not do anything unless proven otherwise with an account number that is paying below RM189 for 100mbps and Ultimate pack which I believe nobody would want to disclose their account number.

Yes and no I guess? I did casually contact TM through Twitter and they said pending for Turbo upgrade and asked to wait. When we get the Turbo upgrade, 800mbps and Ultimate pack at the price we are paying is a steal, this I have to agree.

The main issue is that some were able to get Ruby Plus removed without any adjustment to their account, so I believe they are now paying around RM159 monthly. Problem is MCMC won’t do anything to help as I am unable to provide an account number that has this. Showing a screenshot of their account dashboard or their bill statement without account number not accepted as an evidence.

This was what happened when I lodged a report. They said yes can reduce to RM159 and all. But when they really tried to do it, they said they are unable and have checked with sales team that my plan is RM189. So to settle my complaint, they removed the redundant Ruby pack for the sake of closing my report, then adjusted the discount amount.

If you don’t watch Ultimate pack then makes sense to get any savings you can. This is back to before we agreed to add RM10 monthly for double the speed and all TV channels.

I believe what she really meant was the system had a loophole. As for now, any such cases they will fail to remove the Ruby pack and get a reduction of RM30 in the monthly fee. The case will be handed over to the appropriate department where they will remove the redundant pack and adjust the discount amount.

How we can win this case is if there is someone willing to share their account details with us, then we can all report at the same time.
