I totally felt your frustration and aggression towards them. Pushing responsibility is their trend, I'm afraid.
- Live chat agent don't seems to be very friendly and everybody given different answered.  Hit the poor rating button after the chat conversation, let the management know what their next action to be taken. Meanwhile jeopardize their staff KPI and incentives. Since they are very concern about customer happiness and SMS
Tentatively put to a halt on upgrade @nikrizal shared they will blast on Sept 1 onward. Lets see another 2 week time
Since they given the time frame to upgrade between Aug - Dec and 2019. Let it be for now, this is Malaysia. Our country is far more bigger than Singapore.
- To those who checked on 18th July for Turbo Eligibility on their microsite and to those who received via email.
I m pretty sure , and if they failed to comply what they promised. Take them to court, to claim remunerations  innocent.gif
*
no... i have no agression towards them, been ok over the years.

and not so frustrated since i am quite ok with 100mbps now.

it's just that it's so low level to announce and nothing happens; set up website for customers to check, took it down; call or chat, u get no firm answers, etc.

communicating with customers and public at large is way too lacking... don't the managers and directors feel shameful?!! biggrin.gif

and everyday here, a couple of dozen people will ask "do i get or not", "when coming?", "my cable ok or not?"....

quite laughable, really...

13 September onwards. "

means 13 SEPTEMBER can get RM129 100Mbps Maxis fiber !!

All pergi serang Unifi please if have to wait until next year for free upgrade...
*
seems this one has unlimited quota, free calls too.

for those w/o contract and 100mbps suffices, good deal.

good that unifi turbo pressured them, all consumers can benefit.

May i ask what is a suitable wifi router for 500Mbps out there in the market ?
thanks
*
for complete and proven answers to this question... ethernet, wifi... 300, 500, 800 mbps... 2.4ghz, ghz... diff routers... dif devices... diff adaptors.

gotta wait a while.... becos now turbo pilot only, seems like 99% still haven't got turbo-ed, haven't tried with all the routers being used.

so... gotta wait... the full answers will come... maybe by year end when enough people have it and enough experience with all diff equipment.

Hi, is there any way I can extend my unifi wiring line? I mean currently my unifi line/wiring together with all the modem is located inside my master bedroom. But now I want to put the modem outside in the living room. The unifi fibre cable (which originates from outside my house) isn't long enough if I want to put all the modem and router in the living room.... So how can I extend the unifi fibre cable all the way to the living room? Thanks!
*
u can replace the white cable from the junction box with a longer one... to where u want it to end (modem) unless it is very far.

for that, u can call unifi, they can arrange a contractor for you.

price.. can't remember but I think rm300-400... from a fren's case 2 years ago.

Hi, what will happen if i use RT-AC58U (which is recommended for 300mbps) on my Unifi 500mbps network?
But RT-AC58U is using USB3.0 so should be fine right?
*
do u not see/read the picture?

ac58U - 300mbps.... meaning that's the max u get with wifi.

Rm159, for full channel unifi TV, and stb. Or else the rm129 no stb, can access thru apps only. I'm at TM counter now
*
this sounds about right.

compare apples with apples:

now 100mbps+STD20+STB+ultimate... rm159 vs rm169/179/189 before.

promise fulfilled - price has come down!! tongue.gif

BUT... only for new/ non-contract customers.

Unfair pricing has been there all along. Many paying RM179-199 for 100M while others paying RM2xx-3xx for same. Many others paying RM179-199 for 50M. Etc etc etc. Even now with new RM129 100M, again unfair pricing for those paying RM129 10M or RM139 30M. Always been like that.

My point is that they probably said 10X hoping that no need to reduce price. And users seem to accept it then. Now price reduced in a way and users want that instead of the 10X speed. Not saying users are wrong, just pointing out the change.
*
they have got themselves into such a huge mess that they dunno how to get out of it!

they want to keep the revenues coming... so cannot standardize prices becos that will surely reduce revenues.

so.. i think... their plan is... keep sucking like a vampire those that are "overpaying" until they go away.

until a new law comes into effect to stop them from total discriminatory pricing and outright gouging.

but... nobody in power has brought this up, right?

so, they assume malaysians accept la... tongue.gif

I'm on RM329 100mbps, this is what i got replied after announce that it is unfair to all users that are paying extra.

"Hi. Sekiranya anda mahu tukar ke plan unifi 100Mbps RM129/ sebulan (untuk pack unifi TV Varnam, Aneka dan Ruby), anda boleh mohon di TMpoing berhampiran. Kontrak langganan akan diperbaharui 24 bulan dan plan tersebut tidak entittle untuk turbo free upgrade"

THIS IS GREAT NEWS.

at least for those incl u whose blood's been sucked by unifi for so long, u can get away.

there was no escape until now!

I am one of those on VIP10 UniFi 30Mbps (30 Mbps download / 10 Mbps upload) @ RM179 before SST (RM20 discount from RM199) and long expired contract.

Due to infra limitation (VDSL), highest speed obtainable is 30Mbps.

Thus, was thinking of saving money and getting better upload speed by jumping ship to MaxisONE Home Fibre 30 Mbps (30 Mbps download / 30 Mbps upload, which is the maximum for VDSL anyway) @ RM89 before SST which will save me RM90 from my current RM179 plan.

Only things holding me back were:

1. my preference to retain (nice) telephone number (which I actually don't use for outgoing calls since I have unlimited minutes on Maxis mobile); and

2. I am also not sure if Maxis has the call forwarding feature for their landline.

I don't care about torrenting/p2p but regularly watch Netflix/Hulu hence unifi basic plan 30 Mbps @ RM79 with 60GB quota won't suit my use case.
After the new unifi pro plan 100 Mbps @ RM129 (which is largely the same offer as Maxis 30 Mbps plan save for the telephone calls ie unlimited (Maxis) vs 600 minutes ™ and unifi TV pack) was announced today (6/9/2018), I went to TM Point to enquire on upgrade/downgrade.

Preference was to take the new unifi pro plan at RM129 (despite the RM40 premium over the Maxis RM89 plan) as even though I cannot obtain the max speeds (download of 100 Mbps and upload of 50 Mbps), at least I can shave RM50 from the existing RM179 to RM129 and perhaps get my uploads upgraded to 30 Mbps (of the max 50 Mbps), retain the unifi TV to syiok sendiri and need not worry about changing the telephone number.

However, the TM Point staff tried her best and informed me that despite her efforts, it was not possible to change my plan to the new unifi pro plan 100 Mbps @ RM129 as the system did not allow it, apparently due to the VDSL limitation.

I even told her that I don't care about obtaining the max speeds as I am well aware of the infra limitation and would be okay with 30 Mbps for both upload and download but she told me that it just couldn't be done.

tldr, I got a permanent discount of RM50 with no contract (no change to my plan and I now pay RM129 monthly before SST instead of RM179). Hopefully TM will announce some goodies for UniFi subscribers on VDSL who cannot be upgraded to 100/300/800 Mbps download speeds.
*
this is where unifi f's up, make people angry...

how can u, as a biz, launch rm129 100 mbps while charging others rm179 for 30mbps?

and the customer need to go see them, red tape, almost begging to get price to rm129 - same price but still 1/3 of speed.

do they not have some marketing/sales people who wud hv thought of this and voluntarily offer discount to lowest common denominator?

why is TM so f'ed up?

Tenaga, Syabas... not so bad, right?!

this TURBO thingy... too slow...

if the snail's pace will go beyond year end, i think a lot more people will be downgrading to rm129/139 100mbps.

while i would like to see what turbo i get before i decide, i may lose my patience and just downgrade.

Unifi's loss - their poor slow way of doing things.

but i guess it's their nature not to bother, not to care.

Not really.
Yes, I am subscribed to 50mbps, but need to pay the same price like most 100mbps user out there
So can I get the turbo upgrade 1st?
Some more, my package not include std20, utimate pack and the discount is only valid for 2 years.
This mean I need to pay for something higher than what it is worth.
Tm should just turbo upgrade based on subscription fee, who pay higher per month get it first, like this only consider fair.
*
unless u really want that turbo...

if i m in yr shoes, i will not hesitate to quickly downgrade to the rm129 100mbps.

double the speed immediately, same rm720 a year... in 2 years u save enough to buy a new TV or a great router.

in 2 years time, there will surely be good packs to upgrade to if u wish.

That was I'm did now...
Saving RM50 monthly = RM1200 (Almost can buy Oppo F9 lio  icon_idea.gif )
and TRIPLED my speed in few more days...
*
no brainer, actually.

each day waiting for turbo = your loss.

so, unless u get turbo fast, downgrade makes most money sense.

plus... no headaches about eqpt cant do this, cannot that, must buy new, must spend more...!!

1 month passed... i will wait 1 more month... after that, i likely will F that never coming turbo, can shove it up somewhere... no need. tongue.gif

Yup Using Cat6 (FTP) 20M.

But from my Modem to Router, it's on Cat5e lol. I dunno if I'll get a better result if it was a Cat6 cable & above
Ya, now I can reroute my seedbox to Singapore  brows.gif
*
is cat5e good enough or need cat6 for this cable modem-router for 800mbps?

experts, please comment!

as i think ALL from unifi is just cat5e.
