guys, noob question. Using all TM supplied equipment, router D-Link DIR-850L. When using LAN cable, can achieve speed as given:

However, when using wifi, only able to achieve lower speed:

Need to change router?
*
Change router to TP-Link AC Archer C7 v4, and change your WiFi receiver as well. Connect on 5GHz AC to get the turbo speed.

How do you guys check your Unifi account details? Login to https://mobile.unifi.com.my/selfcare/dashboard? My Dashboard says I have not subscribed to anything. How to actually link my Unifi account to this SelfCare portal?
*
Go to https://unifi.com.my/unifi-en/index.page and log in normally, using your Unifi email that you registered with TM.

Tried with Asus AC1200G+ and Asus USB-AC68 only able to get 300mpbs.  cry.gif
*
Try on 5GHz? But, the Asus AC1200G+ is only 2x2, so you might want to get another router that support 3x3, or 4x4. I recommend the TP-Link C7 v4, which is 3x3.

-.-......Duh....of course you can only get 300Mbps.
AC1200G+ is 2x2:2 while your USB-AC68 is 3x4:3  doh.gif
In your case, buy 3x3:3 router to match your wireless USB adapter
*
That is what I told him, get the TP-Link C7 v4, which is 3x3.

You didn't mention about that in your previous post  brows.gif . *my mistake*

Then again, his usb-ac68 has 3 transmit and 4 receive configuration, I wonder if he should buy* 4x4:4 router? hmm.gif
*
Up to him really. He could get the Asus RT-AC86U.

You can put those links and just reply them to read first post. That way you do not have to post it over and over, save time also.
*
Not a problem actually. I don’t mind answering few basic questions, and it’s okay. I will find links, if things get too much.

hey why am i losing so much speed when using wifi? im getting 30mbps on my archer c60. the wifi just 5 meters away from my laptop
*
Congestion and interference. 30Mbps? What is your original speed? And the Archer C60 is not really a good router, more like basic.

*
Okay, you can only get the full speed on 5GHz AC, and if your device can support it. It has nothing to do with how near you are to the router. The Archer C60 by the way is very basic.

Had connection problem all day with my unifi.
Turning power off at the socket finally sorted out the connection problem.
Not before I went and buy a Archer C7 v5 because I thought it was a router issue which it wasn't.
Anyway, am on the Adv 50Mbps but wasn't even getting half that on the stock router but am getting about 40Mbps (virtually 50Mbps) now on 5Ghz band.
Awaiting turbo upgrade.
*
Of course. Don't expect the stock router to perform well. It is just not going to happen, so you made the right decision to get the TP Link Archer C7. By the way, it is V5 now? Is it available already?

Hey guys, need some advice. I'm on 100Mbps plan supposedly upgraded . When I use phone to USB tether, I can get above 100Mbps. When  I use my desktop to connect via USB wireless, I can gget around only 30Mbps or 50ish at best.

I'm using stock router at the moment. What device should I get ? New router, repeater ? Is the stock router a bottleneck in this situation coz the signal has to pass through wall ?

USB Wireless for desktop atm.
(TP LINK AC1200 Wireless Dual Band USB Adapter Archer T4U (USB 3.0)).
*
Yet another user. Are you connected to 2.4GHz or 5GHz? 2.4GHz is full of congestion and interference. You need to connected to 5GHz AC to enjoy the full speed. Get a new router with better 5GHz connection.

Yes, it is private IP, which range from 172.16.0.0 to 172.32.255.255. Did you check your Unifi portal and paid your bill in time?

I was wondering if TM required to take back orange router to exchange new AC router or not. (currently I am on Asus 14UHP, it is a wireless-N and 2 more wireless-AP). So if wanna whole network to support I need to replace 3 devices.  rclxub.gif
*
You don’t have to replace all 3 devices. Just get a decent router that have strong wireless coverage.

If they change your equipment, you should have a new AC router. Just get a stock router for cheap from garage sales lol, and hand it over, or say that the orange router has spoil and you have thrown it away a long time ago.

Landed Property , Kuala Lumpur (Wangsa Maju)

Unifi Portal Account updated to 800mbps 2 days ago.

Speed test still showing only 300+ mbps on LAN. WiFi 5Ghz flip flop in between 1xx mbps to 240+ mbps

Not sure is it my equipment problem of Unifi still very unstable in the speed upgrade.

Live Chat earlier with Unifi, they just say currently it is Pilot Phase and Monitoring so the speed can't achieve full yet.

I'm using the Huawei BTU (changed earlier this year Feb)

Router own personal Archer C7 V2 (bought it over a year or 2 ago)
*
You could try with another router or change your cable, and your receiving device just be able to support the turbo speed as well.

QUOTE(imin @ Aug 23 2018, 01:46 AM)
Hi, is there any way I can extend my unifi wiring line? I mean currently my unifi line/wiring together with all the modem is located inside my master bedroom. But now I want to put the modem outside in the living room. The unifi fibre cable (which originates from outside my house) isn't long enough if I want to put all the modem and router in the living room.... So how can I extend the unifi fibre cable all the way to the living room? Thanks!
*
Contact TM to do it, or as other posters said have said, so it yourself but be extremely careful as the fiber cable is very fragile. If you want better wireless coverage, you could get a better router that as stronger wireless capabilities.

I've checked my unifi package just now and saw it was upgraded to 800mpbs
There was an Work Order on 21-Aug for this. Some info here
- I do not receive any email or sms on this turbo upgrade
- I'm with unifi for many years now and paying rm217 for 100mpbs package; with hypptv
- I'm on huawei BTU and the tp-link ac1200 (v1 firmware)
- After the reboot, I can only get 200mpbs DL and 100mpbs UL on 5.0ghz
- But only get 100mpbs DL and 100mpbs UL on LAN and 2.4ghz. Wonder why the low speed on LAN. QOS was disabled
- I'm from Subang Jaya, Selangor
- photos as follows
*
It is normal for the wireless, and on LAN, your limitation is your NIC on your device. Either get a USB adapter that support 5GHz AC, and get one that is fairly good and support at least 3x3. You have to change your router as well, to one that supports at least 3x3, so you will have to spend a fair bit. I recommend the TP-Link Archer C7 v4 or v5.

Yeah...  cry.gif The BTU is Huawei HG8240H for me and router provided is DIR-850L. currently using extender Archer D7 for wifi use because the DIR-850L is really annoying. It tend to disconnect for 10mbps.
*
Just change your router already. I recommend the TP-Link Archer C7 v4 or v5. It is relatively inexpensive and very stable.

i just got the Turbo upgrade 500mbps today.. anyone of you who got the turbo upgrade and also TM come to replace the equipment?  mine dont have.. means kena sendiri upgrade router..lol

my current TP Link Archer C2 cannot go up 500mbps for wireless AC..lol
*
TM does not promise to give you equipment that will support your turbo speed wirelessly, only on wired. That is their way of not giving you good routers, but only basic routers that support your gigabit WIRED connection. As I say, get the TP-Link Archer C7 v5 or v4, then you will have no complaints. Stop replying on basic router or powerline.

QUOTE(youngy @ Aug 23 2018, 11:14 AM)
Hi bro, is TP Link Archer C9 or TP Link Archer C2300 a good buy?
*
C9 is quite dated already, and C2300 has a problem with the latest firmware with regards to Unifi TV, so if you are using Unifi TV, do not get it. If not, then C2300 is a good buy. Otherwise, I would recommend the C3150 v2.

QUOTE(cucubud @ Aug 23 2018, 11:21 AM)
Very soon all AC routers will be out of stock biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif

Not really. I think most retailers will have ready stock. The higher the demand, the better for them.
