TM's meaning of the word upgrade is regarding the price, not the speed

Just get your Cat6 cable and test again, and read the 1st page, 1st post, green text to know more.
Don’t use powerline, it is very sensitive to electrical interference and I wouldn’t recommend it at all. Connect on the 5GHz band directly to the router, and test again.
Yes, it is gigabit port router. It can serve well for 500Mbps on wired, but make sure you use Cat5e or Cat6 cable.

My speedtest from Johor Bahru - just noticed the upgraded speed last night. They didn’t email/sms me anything. I’m a happy guy!

Me too. I dont think i will get turboed soon so better get this pckage since now im paying 109 for 30mpbs.

I just applied upgrade from 30mbps rm169 to 100mbps rm129. No contracts and fixed paying rm129 forever.

i am with you here on 2 reasons:
1. i may only get upgraded to 800Mbps in june 2019 while still paying extra rm60 compared to rm129 new plan for another 9 months (9 x Rm60 x 6% = Rm572)
2. 100Mbps is sufficient for me
same here...but i was informed via livechat i can remove ultimate tv item and get rm60 reduction, which means down to Rm129 for 100Mbps to be upgraded to 800Mbps (although no definite time given)

I am using 30mbps RM139 package, and I want to change to RM129/100mbps.
I call TM 100 and they ask me to wait till next week.
They said they donot hv any direction on this type of request.

Alright i finally found out that my contract had ended a while back and since I am no longer contracted to them, I inquired about the new RM129 and to my surprise they said it is only for new subs. And for those who think RM129 may get Turbo'ed, you won't because this is a Turbo'ed from the old 10Mbps plan.

Not overkill at all. I am using it and my wife’s parents house are using it as well, and it is a very good and stable router, with built in antivirus, and IPS, and the wireless range is superb. Highly recommend it and you will definitely enjoy it. Don’t bother with switching the IPv6 on though, as IPv6 here is not really optimized yet.

My friend who’s paying RM149 for 100Mbps (he’s in TIME area) now telling me that he’s been granted an additional RM20 discount for the next bill onwards. He’ll be getting Turbo 800Mbps as well (not yet).

So he’s going to pay RM129 for 800Mbps

After about two weeks with Turbo 800, these are several findings that I hope would assist you guys in making decision:

1. Turbo 800 is best suit for those who really do downloads, with the download rate of 90-100MB/sec you'll be able to download 
    1GB in 10 seconds 
    25GB in 4 minutes
    100GB in 17 minutes
    1TB needs around 3 hours

2. Youtube streaming straight away will go 4K quality if you use 4K TVs (without previously need to choose quality). The videos are instantly played and you could just jump to any part of the videos without any buffering.

3. Website surfing? As expected, the pages just pop up very quick and for locals one near instant, provided you computer are high end with abundant of RAMs.

4. IPTV streaming like the one I currently subscribe to European server loads very fast and immediately choose Full HD (1920 x 1080) quality. I just wish they offer 4K IPTV. No buffering with IPTV.

5. However all these only possible with gigabit router and ethernet/wireless cards. Otherwise you won't really enjoy these Turbo 800 capability.

For me, it's overkill as I mainly just streaming nowadays and only occasionally do downloads. I'm still waiting for TM to announce new packages for 300 and 500Mbps as I think these packages are more suit to my needs.

But till then, I'll just enjoy this Turbo 800

unifi 100 RM129 (save RM60/mth, RM720/yr but no ultimate pack*)
unifi 100 Ultimate RM159 (save RM30/mth, RM360/yr)

or stick with:
unifi 800 Ultimate RM189

*I don't have Astro.

A few users posted yesterday and today about getting the 800M upgrade. I think they must be doing that because otherwise the existing 100M users may switch to the new lower priced 100M if they don't want the upgrade. TM will lose this way. Maybe they hope after getting the higher speeds, users will stay with the higher package price.

That is what they should have done in the first place. The 800M upgrades should have been done first for the 100M users. Then do 500M and 300M. It is fair that way based on what users are paying for their packages.

Then only bring out the new 100M. I think they were forced to do the new 100M due to Maxis 100M package and price. This must have messed up things for them - in addition to how they mess up things anyway...
