No worries. Samsung service centre's have improved and stepped up their game as their service now is really top notch with great customer satisfaction. Ask around in the Note 8 or even S7 thread and you will know what I mean.

Since you already pulled the trigger with the Note 9, sit back relax and enjoy the new beast of a phone. Also not forgetting, your new Note 9 has IP68 rating which makes it water and dust resistant.

this is wrong info. if you send it to samsung service center they need to make sure its still carry the ip68 rating.

If your phone is under warranty you don't have anything to worry about. That is Samsung's burden to bear. Not sure what's the case once the phone's warranty runs out.

Samsung SC will test the phone IP68 by dunking the phone in water for 1 hour.
There is no such thing the IP68 will lose.

there is no warranty for liquid damage but warranty for IP rating, is two different thing.
Bro IP test is PRESSURE test, u don't need a hour for that.

Anyway inside the phone have a watermark sticker.
That way they can reject the phone before repair if the sticker is compromised.
The sticker is placed near an easy place water can seep in.
