This is quite a nice match. Good match so far between two relegation candidates.

Bellerin is still shit at defending but at least he took on players and put a cross more times today than the whole of last season.

Baby steps.

Bellerin is just a shit defender. Possibly the worst RB in the league at defending. Period.

It's not because of Emery's tactics, not because of Emery's playstyle, not because he commits to attack, and not because there is no cover.

Monreal does the same yet our left didn't seem so exposed when West Ham attacked that flank. People say Mkhi did not protect Bellerin, Iwobi and Auba didn't do that all that much either on the left.

He can't even defend when its 1 v 1 - gets burned almost every time, his positioning is shit, has literally no awareness, does risky square passes in his own half and loves to put his teammates under pressure by passing to them when it is clear they are man marked.

It is no coincidence teams are targeting our right flank game in game out and we concede from that side almost every time.

Lichtsteiner as RB and Bellerin as RW could work.

Bellerin now reminds me of Armand Traore. Can attack with pace but can't freaking defend to save his life.

I really don't know what happened here. He was an exceptional, explosive, talented all round RB when he first burst on to the scene in 14/15 and had another stellar year in the 15/16 season. After that, it was all downhill from there.

Doesn’t make any difference even if he drops back in time. Players just go past him like a training cone.

Nah bench the primma donna.

Send a signal that he can't just walk back into the team when he wants. If by 55-60 mins things still remain tight he can have his chance.

Auba/Laca/Mkhi/Iwobi or Ramsey front 4 for me.

Iwobi looks to be in decent form and has been very good in each of his last 2 appearances. I'd start him ahead of Ozil.

Finally auba/laca starting together. A bit mixed about the quartet of uselessness starting yet another match.

Unai is looking like a Wenger version 2 when it comes to team selection as matches go by.

Hopefully they will repay the faith Unai is showing in them.

Fingers crossed 3 points tonight against a mediocre Cardiff.

QUOTE(Thumpy Ick @ Sep 2 2018, 07:41 PM)
looks like ozil is starting.

i want him to start in these games because ozil tends to disappear in big games, so what the hell, play him against lesser oppositions.

if he still doesnt deliver against these park the bus teams then i dont know what use he has anymore
*
I hope he does well. I am one of Ozil's biggest critics but I want him to do well because at the end of the day you got to admit that with his ability and talent, for us to do well, he needs to be playing well. His form and consistency will shape our season and will be the difference between a so-so one to a good or great one.

Sigh, just hope this bugger starts repaying the faith everyone is showing in him, starting today.

Our defense is still as shit as usual. Cardiff should’ve scored at least 2 goals. One day luck will run out and we will seriously get hammered if things dont improve.

I’ve been really disappointed with Auba. Such a poor poor first half.

First touch, ball control, everything has been really poor.

Unai is just like a Wenger version 1.1, a revision with minor improvements but essentially still the same.

How long is he going to tolerate rubbish like Bellerin. Almost cost us a goal again.
