lets all take a moment to laugh at these posts and how well it has matured. (circa mid to late 2017) << psssh it wasnt even that long ago!
anybody wanna guess its from who?
these were when Nelson made his first few senior team appearances and plenty of us here was able to take a moment to appreciate what we saw, a gem that just needs a lil polishing. A lot of us here were VERY excited whenever we saw his name on the team sheet, some even furious that Walcott at that time whose form was dip shit got to start ahead of Nelson.
but then there's always that guy amirite..
ouch, that's harsh

, y u no giff chance? he's only 18 (17 when you were crucifying him). but look now he's scored 4 in 4.
Sorry but I don't see anything special about Reiss Nelson at all, yet. Did nothing but run into blind alleys and lose the ball at the touchline all game. Poor decision making as well. Don't seem to know when is the right time to put in a cross, cut inside or take it to the byline. Has decent technique and showed few glimpses of talent but at the moment his "football brain" looks to be at the level of Walcott.

I am not sure if it was me or anyone else who made those comments. Too lazy to check back my posts but if it was someone else I can fully understand and relate to them or if it was me, yes I stand by those comments.
Just because he scored 4 in 4 now doesn't take away the fact that he was poor and didn't look ready for the first team in those games. I don't see anything wrong in those posts, doesn't take a genius to realize those observations and assessments were made on his performances at that point in time aka at those very moments, and in those moments, and in those matches he played in, he really looked average regardless of what wonders he did in the reserves league. If you are an Arsenal fan for at least sometime you would know doing wonders in the reserve league accounts for nothing and how many of these so called "next big things" have fallen by the wayside. None of those posts implied he wouldn't ever be a good player and will never improve did they? lol
Moreover the fact he is on loan now clearly shows that the management thinks the same. Too good for the reserves but too poor for the first team. Else he wouldn't be sent out on loan in the first place if the management didn't think he needed more experience and wouldn't get enough minutes with the first team aka not ready for the first team aka not good enough for the first team.
Circa mid to late 2017? Not very long? LOL It's almost a full bloody year! That is a little more than half the 17/18 season, a FULL preseason of work, and the best part of the first half of this season. Players can improve and develop at a much faster rate and there has been countless players that have improved and developed in a much shorter time frame. Take Iwobi for example, not the best example, but it is a recent example, in just one preseason and he already looks a very much improved player from his crappy self last season.
So what? are we going to now dig back up all the posts about everyone calling Iwobi shit last season and start laughing at them? Lol grow up man, Iwobi may be playing well now but it doesn't take away the fact that he was a crappy player previously and you can't blame people for calling him crap at that time because he indeed was. And before you say its only a few games with Iwobi, the same goes for Nelson, its been only 4 games. It is still way too early. Glad he is doing well, most importantly progressing and improving, and credit to him for appearing to be taking full advantage of his loan chance at first team football in a decent league at the moment though. However, I will reserve judgment until I see him in action in the red and white again. Don't think I will be watching any of his matches in the Bundesliga.
