rm1.5k can good damn good system? then those who spend rm5k+, what do u call them? super damnx100 good?

pegasus is from the same company of prokick... i guess pegasus is the high end stuff from them using better parts...

as for HU, i do recommend a HU wif 3 pairs of pre-out wif high voltage.. eg. 4v preout n above bcz it will b a basic thing that u'll need for an ICE setup..

correct... head unit is juz a player that plays CD... for normal ppl, they'll check the xxW rating and thats it..

but for real, each brand's cd player has its own characteristic... for eg. alpine has a high trebel character, eclipse has a clean/natural character n so as other brands.. so, this reli depends on the taste of the listener..

then, follow by the DAC (digital analogue converter).. 1 bit DAC n 24bit DAC.. they surely make a large difference..

if the cd player is good, the amplifier in the HU itself is good as well... such as my alpine 9815.. it performs well in my bro's myvi wif stock speakers.. a good HU will last u more than 5 yrs cz my dad's Alpine HU juz had its b'day last month and its 7yrs old edi...

so... the more u pay, the more u get.. durability and satisfaction is there.. smile.gif

Alpine headunit that u said high end ain't really high end at all if compared wid what craziechild. Those u saw is juz better than others at middle end.

Those high end stuffs r like alpine f1 unit will cost more than rm4k, mcintosh, pioneer p80, eclipse n etc...

Those shops selling so called high end is like 9855 n a model wid dvd player. They cost around rm2k at max....

yarhh.. there is some1 selling the a/d/s speakers in mycarhifi/gr8tunes... rm400 for that speakers... i think it darn worth... the person bought it from a trusted forummer (i guess @ rm800) when it was new and now he is selling for half of de price... it is a pair of good quality component speakers wif nice clean sound...

it is definately high recommended speakers if u don wanna spend much money on ICE for upgrading (unless u r poisoned wif ICE tongue.gif ) cz u r paying less but getting much more than it's worth..

RS audio has awesome speakers... my dad is using RS Pro in his car wif eton amp.. great mid and clean vocal..

eton (entry level).. audited it once in sound quest (when they were still in cheras) hmmm mid bass is a lil bit lack..

focal (access) (b4 upgrade to alpine) high in trebel.. moderate mid...

your planned setup
HU:Alpine 9855
Mid spk: Focal 165k2p
Amp : Steg Qmos 120.2x

i would say it's great.. thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

HU : Eclipse 3100/5100
Mid : Ameron high range de(they say only 2 range, high price and low price)

ermmm.. HU i think it's good enuff for a beginner.. and as for the ameron and agako.. it's good for guyz who juz stepped into ICE... (cz they r local made stuff as u don expect much out of it)

*different ppl different requirement... so can't say much.. smile.gif

u can put the most into ur HU... those no PRO, don listen tat much larh cz those accessory shopz onli wanna earn ur money..

as for component spks, i saw some1 in the garage sales; automotive section there is some1 selling pegasus... i recommend pegasus bcz u can get the most from the amount u r paying..

as for amp, i hope u can budget more.. if can't, then use ur HU to run it 1st.. n i hope u can budget at least rm1k for a 4-channel amp.. then u can use 2 channels for ur front component and the other 2 for ur woofer (if u plan to haf 1)

this sort of setup will do u very good rather than further change this n tat later.. i hope u guyz don think that i'm a silly guy n blow water here n there...

i juz don 1 u guyz 2 waste all ur hard earn money 2 those accessory fellars.. ending up u drive a rm50k car and they r driving few hundred thousand car... i've paid more than rm10k for all the ICE lessons...
