Anything interesting to share?

Working on quite a few new products/features, most notable FPX (many YAYs from LYN). No timeline though. I tried out their test page for a new payment UI.

New features and new products are 2 whole different thing correct?
*
Yeah different.
QUOTE(hiyyl @ Feb 26 2019, 03:26 PM)
Any details on the products and features? Except fpx
*
Very early stage, may get axed mid-stage, so I think best for them to announce when they have finalized.

How different is the proposed product for HNWI compared to low? Or just what you think?

What do you mean by thematic portfolios?

Also will they roll out the new products in SG market first to test waters or just global release? Thanks  rclxm9.gif
*
They mentioned, not what I think.

Thematic = themes, for example clean energy focus.

No idea on geographical release. I would say since there is probably not too much localisation required, probably global. Now THIS is a guess.

Looks like you are HNWI loh.

Whole thread only you went.

T.T
*
I am sure others went lah haha
QUOTE(l4nc3k @ Feb 26 2019, 06:57 PM)
Sorry I phrased it very wrongly, not meaning to offend you. Actually the question I wanted to ask was how different is the plan for high vs low income, and/or what do you think about the plan/difference?
*
None taken.

We did not really discuss it much, and they did not share too much about HNWI either. Very early stage.

I shared a lot about the concerns that were stated here. Namely more constant updates (omg last updated 3 days ago!) and faster FX and transactions (omg I bank in Friday today wed liao money still not in).

Oh and they are well aware of our discussions here. So maybe they might respond directly to us one day.

Hi,

Is singapore stashaway and malaysia's the same in terms of asset allocation?

Any idea which is better to invest?
*
I think asset allocation is the same. Could be wrong, so just double check on their website

Got lump sump but I choose not to do it. So just DCA daily it to spread it out....

Manatao so ineffective and inefficient... doh.gif
*
I brought it up as one of the biggest concerns.

I did not ask why it happened though. My guess is that they do bulk fx, just like how they bulk buy etfs. If this guess is correct, then the higher the daily investment (more consistent DCA by everyone), the faster the entire process. I think the hint was when I asked "which is better for you guys? DCA or lump sum?".

Answer was DCA.

For the projected return stated in my previous post, I didn't ask Stashaway about it but I think that it's gross as the annual management fee varies according investment amount.
*
I thought the management fee is 0.8% AUM p/a or something like that?

so need to deduct 0.8% across the board from the advertised 4-6% return?
*
I THINK if it is gross, then yeah.

Not sure if you opt for a lower risk index the management fee will be lower. If its 0.8% off the board, best stick with an index which aims for higher returns.

0.8% for a low risk low return profile will eat quite a high percentage of your profits(if any)
*
Hmm oh you are right, it IS variable.

Yay, that is actually good news rclxms.gif

I think they change it.

Last November it was across the risk index.
*
ok I is confused now.

I thought it always was same across the risk index, but the only variable part is the invested amount?

Aduhh.

Sorry sorry.

I myself also konpius.

**Nothing change in fees structure since they landed Malaysia.**
*
I guess we just konpius sendiri xD

Do you guys think with the 0.8% to, lets say realistically lah, 0.5% p/a fee, it would impact the profit too much?

Another aspect is the FX. Although 0.1% conversation fee is not expensive I suppose, but I think we never really looked at the actual FX rate it was converted at. Manatau it was at some crazily unfavourable rate.

You can check the forex rate in detail on their website or their transaction page. Last time i checked it was quite close, not the super crazy rates
*
hmm you ish right. I never did check the transaction details on the SA app.

11th Jan:
XE.com - 0.24411
SA - 0.2435

ok you are right, quite close!

+1 for SA

sorry if this is asked before, is every deposit immediately invested? is there like a cash management fund like FSM where we can deposit for it to maintain a regular DCA deduction?
*
Takes a couple of days to get it reflected in your account (FX + buying the ETFs). And nope.

btw, alex want do survey

if there's an instrument allowing you to have exposure to SP500 at the lowest cost of 0.07% per annum, but with sales charge and redemption charge of 0.55% ~ 1 %, would you switch from Stashaway?
*
Yesh

Any other charges? FX?

Edit: Actually, no, would not switch. Would SUPPLEMENT. Just to be clear, this is SPY right?

semua masuk d...

FX = 0.45% instarem one-way
brokerage = 0.1%~0.5% depending on the size you hoot

any SP500 instrument. SPY pun boleh.

I'm still thinking of reason why ppl don't want the cheaper alternative?
*
Cheaper is of course good

But SA has exposure to other instruments as well. Unless you mean you can intro us to cover just about any other ETFs, then good lah.

I did bring up about the 0.8% being a little costly. I suggested that they should have more "value added" services.

And to be fair, I guess the argument here is about passive (BYO) vs active (SA) portfolios.
