I will think this is just another clever statistics. Heck Utusan even highlighted people getting medicine to prevent the infection as bad.

QUOTE(lepo @ Aug 7 2018, 11:50 AM) Not end game lah actually. HIV now is categorised as chronic (macam diabetes), and not fatal like last time. Sample still fatal are tetanus, polio, diphtheria etc.Of course the patients must take the medication religiously -- only 2 pills every night. With the correct medication, after a duration the viral load can become 0 that the person becomes not infectious (the wonder of modern medicine) -- but he/she better not skipping the medicine. I think in Malaysia, the negative stigma (from religion mostly and cultures) plays the biggest hindrance to the health of the victims. Many will only seek help when in late stages -- still can help but you will suffer the great unnecessary pain. So please get test regularly if you are in a risky group, gay or straight. Get medication early. |

QUOTE(Peiyantiu @ Aug 7 2018, 12:44 PM) Which part was i wrong? Learn to read first. It was associated with homosexuals initially, but later found not to be confined to homosexuals only. It is not associated with homosexuals FROM day one, but only at the initial stages, and only when it became an epidemic in the US. Heterosexuals could also get it, but it is just fortuitous that it happened in the homosexual group, from day one.Did i say heterosexual is spreading less than gays? Please disprove hiv was assoc with gay from day one. Let me quote "In June 1982, a group of cases among gay men in Southern California suggested that the cause of the immune deficiency was sexual and the syndrome was initially called GAY-related immune deficiency (or GRID)" The FIRST initial history of HIV is from Africa, and no one really knows how it started, but the most dominant theory is from apes. You see gay guys have to have sex in secrets. And since it is secret, no one will know if you have 1000 sex partners. The more sex partners you have, the higher chance you will get infection (if you don't practice safe sex). Straight guys usually won't have that many sex partners (I say usually). And now recreational drugs are getting very popular among gay guys (again since it is a secret). Once you are under drug, you won't think about safe sex liao. |

I don't understand, if both Gays have no HIV, and they have sex, they should be safe right? if either party have no HIV, no?

Apparently it is not a fake statistics. HIV infection among heterosexuals have come down, but there is a spike in Homosexuals worldwide, Malaysia included. The summary of why it is like that - small pool of people sleeping and having sex with each other. A heterosexual man with a large pool of woman, statistically the infection chance is lower (also due to less risky vaginal sex). A homosexual man with small pool of homosexual man, the chances are higher. |
