Hi Sifus,

Im planning to buy 2nd hand 2011 Persona Elegance High Line. Mileage 120k.
Going to meet an owner seller tomorrow to check the car.

Any common stuffs that i should check on?
Or any other advises?

Thank you sifus! Hope to join this club soon.

-IAFM got tak tak sound?
-Exhaust manifold got cracks? since its covered by heat shield, you really need to youtube the sound just to be sure. Also make sure no white/black smoke come out. White smoke means piston ring worn, black smoke means running too rich
-Radiator (rust? got use coolant all the while?) and engine oil/atf (color dark?milky?<means head gasket blown) clean?
-Drive fast (test suspension parts) and break hard (for testing brake components)
-A/C cold?

So guys, after I changed all engine mounting, the car is quiet like new!
However, I can feel vibration when aircond compressor kicks in, obvious especially idling.

Is there any mounting/bush that can be changed to fix this?

anyone knw this persona sv auto got gear oil filter or not??

i only known oil sum there got filter and engine oil filter,  dun dunno gear oil got filter or not.
*
got, but you need to take out gear box to access it.

therefore you should only change it if doing major overhaul of GB.

not worth the labour charges just to change the filter, unlike the Punch CVT transmission that requires periodic changing.

i think the filter should be changed every 40k right? comes with a set of gasket too
*
I bought the filter+gasket set many years ago and brought to workshop.

hence what I said. My persona has 500k km+ and never changed before, still shifts like a dream given timely change of fluids

For those asking about the IAFM issues, all I did was had it replaced with IRIZ air intake - it has no IAFM. So my car has no IAFM but that is OK. Just had to pass through the 2-3k RPM then the car flies off
*
watch this video on a similar case owner changed to Iriz air intake

anyone got used spring buffers before? does it make the ride harsh a lot?

my perosna SE front lip/skirt (I know common issue) keeps hitting the floor/road during slightly deep slopes which is rather annoying

alright tq. i learn something new whenever this car makes a problem.

most youtube tutorials say only need 4 liters, i was shocked when the ATF level was low, thought that was something wrong with my transmission.

now to change spark plugs..
*
Contrary to what workshops tell you, need around 4.5L+ for each change of ATF.

If just 4L its just barely above low.

it was a bit of bummer because most fully synthetic ATF is sold in 4 liters bottle. Proton SPIII got too many fakes in the market.
maybe next time I change ATF, I'll try Mizu or UMW group brand GEP. this two is at least nobody wants to make counterfeits.
*
Yes there are a lot of fakes and I share the same sentiment and view as you.

Try Boscher SP III Fully Synthetic ATF bro, they sell in 4L / 1L variants so its what you want. Been using it for 2 years+ and performance is good.

Their recommended service interval is 40-60k which is higher than original proton / mizu others, but of course I don't dare to drag so long as well

A lot of people say our old persona can use Ns60 battery which is cheaper than Din55r?

Don't know why our battery so expensive, even more so than new persona with so much more electronics!

Anyone tried???

U would have to use NS70 as a replacement. I tried before, it involves  modifying the bottom mount bracket. NS70 is the tied down type vs DIN55R is the bottom latch type. I would suggest just sticking to DIN55R as NS70 battery will slide around since persona doesnt have the tie down to hold it firmly.
*
Thanks bro. Will just stick with DIN55R for more convenience and ease

Used to be a lot more cheaper. But ever since no new model using IAFM, proton reduced production quantity and cost went up.

Since you using a new unit, you can bring it to Zordaq and have them do a small mod to prevent the rattle from happening in future.

Otherwise you can opt for OEM IAFM next time,  which selling around old price of 250-300 on shopee or lazada.

I personally advocate a visit to Zordaq.
*
Whats the mod? to remove the butterfly and IAFM function? then you basically lose low end torque

theres lots of sellers in persona FB groups doing that for 250-300+. Have to trade-in your old intake so they have perpetual supply

guys,, are these items original mitsubishi or fake? i want to buy change full suspension for my car,,
*
Pls don't buy mitsubishi brand. These are fake as mitsubishi doesn't manufacture other brand car parts

For your info I changed mitsubishi brand suspension components and they just don't last. Within 1 year my rear upper arms all making noise, in the end have to re-do everything with additional labour charges some more. Another brand to avoid is mounting King
