by the way, if you want to select YCbCr444 10bit , pls ensure you are using 2160P with either 24hz or 30hz...as i know 2160P 50/60hz not able to support YCbCr444 10bit on HDMI2.0

FYI, pls ensure your TV deep color/ultra HD deep color setting is enable before you configure your q10 pro.

no, if file is SDR, it will deliver SDR.
if file is HDR and TV or AVR is not, the picture is washed out.

u can try the "movie bar" app inside myapps.
i never use it, no idea if it is any good.

thanks again

expected Q100 has somewhat gone into twilight zone, no more news.

anyway, that is like a stale model somewhere between Q10pro and Q30... not much to be missed.

now, futeko has this just reported... nothing much... wait till next year!
note: Q10pro uses Hi3798C V200; Q30 uses Hisilicon Hi3798M V200

this new 8k box is said to use HiSilicon Hi3796CV300:

I think the 8K box still dont have Dolby Vision blush.gif
the new shield which coming on end of Oct confirmed with Dolby Vision smile.gif i bought my q10 pro too early. haiz....

if u set to 2160p, u get upscaling for anything originally below that.
if u set to 1080p, that's the highest it will be, no upscaling for original 1080p.
also, u can press menu button on remote and explore the various fine tuning options incl imprex engine on/off.
the rest will be up to the TV.

thank you, if i set the player to 1080P, what will happen if im playing 4k HDR movie?

latest news from futeko....

11 dec, they start to ship new Himedia S500.

user posted image

GOOGLE ANDROID TV HiMedia S500 runs fully certified Google Android TV 9.0. It is the only Google certified HiSilicon chipset Android TV box.
BLUETOOTH VOICE REMOTE Voice remote with Google Assistant integrated into the Android TV interface.
WIDEVINE + MICROSOFT PLAYREADY Fully licenced Widevine L1 and Microsoft Playready. Allows Netflix/Youtube in 4K, amongst many others.
GOOGLE CHROMECAST Easily share media from your phone/tablet.
BOX CONTENTS HiMedia S500, Bluetooth voice remote, HDMI cable. PSU. Package weight: 1kg.

Q: Local / LAN playback? As it stands HiMedia S500 has standard Android TV firmware installed with no ability to play local/LAN media with HiSilicon hardware support. However, it uses the same hardware as other HiMedia boxes so all it needs is the installation of the the Media Center and HiMedia/HiSilicon video player apps. We have asked HiMedia to provide these apps for sideload so local/LAN playback equivalent to previous HiMedia boxes can be restored. No guarantees.

if the himedia media player app can be sideloaded to do like what Q10/Q5pro does, incl HD audio, then it is OK, good added value.
if not, it will be just like another ATV box.
2+8gb is limiting... good for regular apps only.
rj45 100mbps, usb2.0, hdmi 2.0b... overall, rather low specs.
for 70 pounds sterling or rm350... not too bad but really paying for the chipset and google certification.

...

i will be more interested in this:

HiMedia 8K
New HiSilicon Hi3796CV300 8K media chipset. Mali G52. 8K playback. Android 9. Due approx June 2020.
COMING SOON ?

this vietnam seller jumped the gun to say it does all the HD audio... while futeko says "no guarantee".
this S500 is not going to be a super box for local playback.
at best, it can just do what Q10pro/q5pro does.
perhaps the next 8k model might be able to.
S500 seems to be another box in the race to get google certification, use ATV os.

check out these Ugoos boxes.. reviews say they do DV playback.

hi all, I'm using Q10 Pro and having this issue from time to time - the screen resolution setting set to 2160P/24, but it will auto change to 1080P from time to time, i have to manually switch it to 2160P/24....again, after few days or week, it will auto change back to 1080P...any of you encounter this issue before? thank you

this may be due to the order u switch on and off the equipment, some handshake issue.

try switching q10pro on LAST and switching off FIRST.

yes, i practice this all the time

turn on time: TV -> AMP -> Q10Pro
turn off time: Q10Pro -> AMP -> TV
