if spine health is what you are looking for..
sit on an exercise ball.
*
Exercise ball means you have to sit upright, which is very tiring. And exercise ball has no lumbar support
I don't agree with the recommendation that you have sit upright 100% of the time. It is good for your upper body i.e. neck and shoulders, but your lower spine will be bearing the bulk of the load.

Like everything, your spine also needs some rest. As such, at times, you need to sit reclined so that your lower back can take some rest. But reclining will load your upper body, and strain the neck.
The good way is to sit multiple positions, so that different part of your body takes the load on average.

Here is a blog that I think would explain better than me.

For the past few months I've been doing back exercises (deadlifts, rows, pull ups, face pulls, etc) and generally being active.. and I find that I don't desire ergonomic chairs as much as I used to. Something to think about smile.gif

You can google around. Many websites says they are good. Many websites also says they are bad.
I think they are bad.

If you disagree with me, you can buy one and try for yourself. They are pretty cheap, less than RM100.

Not disagreeing with u. Was genuinely asking. Ya planning to try it myself. Since I notice I always end up sitting at the end of the seat n not leaning into the office chair.

Some brands based on feedback. Depends on your budget

Okamura (xtra furniture Gardens)
- Contessa 4k++

Herman Miller (Some forumers says Gardens got)
Aeron - 6k++
Embody - 9k++

Ergohuman Mesh(Am-office) - 2k++

IOO Mesh Chair (Delta office) - not sure price. expect less than 2k

Steelcase (contact KL steelcase, should be in Gardens)
- Think - 1.3k++
- Leap - 2.6k++
Steelcase carries a big range of cheap to expensive chairs. You can look for their catalogue.
My office has a bunch of Let's B chairs, probably under 1k. They are pretty decent if your budget is tight.

Haworth (Somewhere near plaza lolyat). Got comments in reddit says Haworth have bad reliability
- Zody - ??
- Look - ?? (this is the chair that I sit on in office. It has more features, but I feel that the Let's B is slightly better)

Lower end, go get Ikea Markus
Cheapest - get kopitiam plastic chair

Others I might left out.
Things to note:

Chairs are mechanical things. So its best if it is good warranty, as mechanical parts can wear out.

Many people here can buy graphics card above RM1000, tapi when talk about chairs, some are using the kopitiam plastic chairs
I am looking for decent office chairs, with proper height adjust, lumbar support and armrest adjust. Headrest is optional.
Don't give me that Ikea crap (no armrest adjust), and the Aeron is too rich for my blood.

My company uses a mix of Haworth and Steelcase chairs, so I know how good they are. I am sitting on a Haworth Look.
Haworth has a showroom near Plaza Lolyat, but does anyone know the price? Haworth Zody comes highly recommended.
Steelcase is known to be hard to deal with, especially individuals, I am still trying to get the price for the Steelcase Think. Leap might be too hot for our weather?

AM-office sells this mesh chair from Ergohuman but it is RM2000+
http://amoffice.com.my/product/ergohuman/

I found Deltaonline selling the IOO series. It basically comes from the same manufacturer as the Ergohuman in AM-office, just slightly cheaper materials
http://www.deltaonline.com.my/cart/product...itle:IOO+Series
The same manufacturer also makes a series called Enjoy (aka Workpro quantum mesh chair in US). The Enjoy series is used by major companies in China. But I cannot find this locally. Not in Penang anyway.
Does /k have any thoughts?
EDIT:
Called the distributor for Steelcase chairs in Penang. Steelcase Think is RM1200-RM1300, Leap is RM2600+

I have this chair from AM Office. DO NOT get this. Will regret it long term. There is no way to disassemble the bottom part of the chair, dust easily accumulate inside the mesh bottom. Only way to clean it out is to use an industrial blower.

If you work from home and sit on it all day, I suggest you spend more on a good chair.

Mesh chairs are good if you need to fart. But they have the tendency to sag if you sit too long. Hence your butt sits lower than the edge lip. This causes the edge lip to press on the back of your thigh, cutting circulation to the leg. The effect is more pronounced in overweight people.
Penang distributor quote me Rm2600 without headrest ready stock. Some forumer shared that they got it for RM1700 before our currency drop 3 years ago.

Where did you get your leap chair from?
*
Before this Steelcase didn’t have a distributor, since they did the chairs are more expensive unfortunately

Is that Rm2600 for the V2? I paid close to 4K for the V2 with headrest from the official distributor ... can’t remember the name now.
