Sifar is originated from an Arabic word ...

Wiki-
In pre-Islamic time the word ṣifr (Arabic صفر) had the meaning "empty".[7] Sifr evolved to mean zero when it was used to translate śūnya (Sanskrit: शून्य) from India

Sifar is from the Arabic word "sfar" which means zero. Many "new" Malay words come from Arabic ever since some people started the Arabization of Malay words since Anglicized or "Indonizisation" of Malay words are no longer popular. 😋

Kosong - empty (state) and zero (number)
Sifar - zero (number)

Though for usage, sifar doesn't seems to be used in the same structure as other number words. For example, 0% usually spoken as kosong peratus, not sifar peratus.

GST kosong can also means GST empty, which later mudah mengeliru BN MPs thought GST semua disonglapkan oleh PH govt. Sifar is zero, won't confuse anyone.

Actually conceptually 2 x 5 and 5x 2 is different
2 x 5 is 2 groups of 5, 5 x 2 is 5 groups of 2
Like 2 x 5 apples means 2 bags each containing 5 apples
5 x 2 apples means 5 bags each containing 2 apples
*
Why can't 2x5 be five bags containing two apples each instead of two bags containing five apples each?
