QUOTE(Hevlaska @ Jul 25 2018, 11:20 PM) Brand new elevators (1-3 years) from building completion usually takes some time to calibrate properly. Every building traffic is different, and some places due to much traffic moving in out, there tends to be overload or cargo elevator needs further balancing/fine-tweaking. This is pretty much normal bro, no calls for alarm or to judge the elevator yet. It may be down not due to breakdown, but simply ironing out electronical/software bugs etc to fine tune flow/timeouts/powersavings etc from default. Dude, I'm not talking about calibrating or tweaking, I meant brand new elevators that are already breaking down right from the start, and it's not just one particular lift in one particular condo. The Eita lifts in the PV10 condo that I've stayed at years ago have this problem, not just 1 unit but almost all 10 units of the condo. I've checked around and it is also the same issue with the rest of the Platinum Victory condos that uses Eita lifts. I'm part of the condo's closed Facebook group and till now I still see the same complaints over again, the condo is around 10 years old btw.And check out this news about Sigma elevators, https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/hous...ew-projects-hdb This post has been edited by Dah Playa: Jul 26 2018, 08:21 AM |

I'm not familiar with PV projects, thus i cant comment much on that. Much more less on eita as none of the condo under my previous management used this. However, i did reviewed some of the tenders, there was always questions that their reps are not able to answer and other factors that remains unfavorable vs others thus never selected. And check out this news about Sigma elevators, https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/hous...ew-projects-hdb If its a new project, then further action should be taken by the management to highlight this issue to developer before developer let go. There are few options on how to go on this depending on which stage of DMC/JMB you're at. If you have a stake on this, you can pm me and i can share some info with you. As for the Singapore case, i believe every company has their own issue at each countries due to many external underlying factor. Although i personally don't wager much on Sigma as it isnt the most trouble-free i've seen, news like that should be also taken with a pinch of salt. I would say 70-80% of the trouble with today's elevator are mostly contractors and human error that is the main contributor. In the case of the article, it feels more like they've tendered off more than they can handle as they couldnt meet dateline and rushed to prematurely complete their projects. |

It seems like Kone can be problematic as well, look at Skyawani 3, frequent breakdown, and know Skyawani 4 and 5 changed to Schindler
