Best to withdraw cash with BP card and use it that way.
Even carrefour in China don't take foreign CC.

just maildrop.

when i first gotten the card in Apr, no callback to check either.

i guess this new SOP only implement recently (few months ago), probably due to complaints of fraud (?) or missing/undelivered packages (by citylink)
*
My friend opted for replacement paypass card but did not receive it even though tracking shows as delivered.

I think it is part of the new procedure after many complaints.

Only 1 of my friend uses Bigpay, so pretty useless to me. biggrin.gif

It's kinda difficult to convince people you know to use BigPay, cuz they don't even understand or wanna know what convenience a prepaid card provides.

And let's not even get started about convincing people to use e wallets as well.
*
most relevant benefit is buying AA tickets no need to pay convenience fee.
That how i convinced some of the more non e-wallet friendly friends

Agree that double swiping should be taken more seriously.

Perhaps we can wipe the magnetic strip data and tape the CCV/credit card numbers biggrin.gif
Of course, it makes it hard to use if we are overseas if chip payment is not accepted. So there's that.

Anyone can be withdrawing 7x4000.
Once I queued behind a guy and he withdrew all the cash in the ATM. When it was my turn, the ATM said 'out of service'

This was like 5-10 years back. I don't really remember.

Usually those required min spending to pay with CC, I will pay with RM100 note, even just buy few ringgit stuff.
*
I thought I was the only one laugh.gif

I also went to Cash only lanes in AEON and pay for my few ringgit things with RM100 note. Usually Cash lanes are also 10 item lanes and have shorter queue. I am only buying 1 or 2 items.
When the cashier ask whether I got any small change, I said I have card and AEON ewallet, but it isn't allowed laugh.gif

If you looking at final amount charged in RM, yes BigPay is the cheapest until other cards start coming in (Revolut, Youtrip, Grab - all not launched in Malaysia yet but say will launch soon)

If you add in airmiles, nope. Better card exist if you want to get more value for money (by getting airmiles)
*
Comparing BP with other cards such as M2P, spending on M2P becomes like buying airmiles already for overseas spend due to the extra transaction cost.

Tried it before, it was crap...

The app was just too barebone, only can top up using online banking, couldn't even top up e wallets...

If you want me use it as an Aeon member card, might as well just use the original one instead of this crap.

Not sure about now, but they didn't seem to improve much as of yet.
*
The app replaces your aeon member card.
1 less card to bring out,

If that is the case. Wonder where does bank get all the money to loan to others ? I thought that is the way how banking work. Money to earn money.
*
ewallet apps are not banks.
That's why there is a separate digital banking license for this.

anyone here have used the "merchatrade money visa prepaid card"
that has the functionality to lock in exchange rate and multi currency wallet?

vs bigpay, which one is better?
*
There's a thread for that
https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4766860

Merchant trade
Pros
1. Free withdrawal at merchantmoney
2. RM1 withdrawal at ATM
3. Wechat treats it as Debit Card. So you can get free transfer to Banks via Wechat
4. On and Off promotions. On 11-11 last year, I spend Rm500 at taobao and got Rm100 back. This was on top of all the promotions in the taobao website. A similar promotion happened on 12-12 as well. In total I got almost RM200 cashback for Rm1000ish spending
5. There were some groceries shopping promo, and hotel/travel booking promos giving 10-20%
6. You can get the MCC code instantly
7. You can buy Forex (i do not have this feature activated)

Cons
1. They charge Rm10 or something as issuing fee, and there's an annual fee of RM8 that is waived the first year.
2. No CC reload
3. Took 1 month to process Taobao refund via Revpay, and they manage to screw it up twice by refunding someone else's transaction. I guess their process is less automated. This was in January.

There are a bunch of features that I do not have the chance of trying, such as eRemit, eForex, etc.

I think really GG for OCBC.

Mine normally will credited next day or 2 for 0.9% but today is the 5th day, they still haven't credited the balance 0.9%.
*
Fyi, my 0.9% was credited 1 week after last month

nope. with an ewallet that doesn charge convenience fee in the first place, then they have already think about how they going to absord the cc fees. but with SarawakPay, 'i think' it took a few rounds of proposal and survey, to get 'some agencies' agreed to subsidise the cc fees. you know every month these companies would have a meeting where they discuss new users registered, monthly usage, new merchants registered, i 'also think' one of the topics that brought recently is the sudden significant amount of withdrawal took place after they waive the cc fees. which, eventually someone must have kena blame in the meeting directly. e.g. 'fought so hard for cc fees to be waived, now people cashing out money from us'. just saying.

boost, bigpay - they are supported by big companies, airasia/axiata, maybe the cc fees peanuts for them - when they started and of course they have though they could absord it, which bigpay now also has agreed they cant!. sarawakpay is govt own under SMA, operated by a glc company, which a lot of workpapers required if they were to ask sma to fund/increase the current grant given to fund the cc topup fees.

they have a fixed amount of grant allocation per year, which they cant exceed, if significant portion of the grant is utilised to fund CC topup for abuser - then nothing left for sarawakian for real spending (for the cashback 6-7%) at end of the year, so again, if im part of the team, i would ban these abusers.

Again, since it is out in the open already, do it at your own risk. Don't let them caught you.

Don't worry. I won't want to use your state privileges.
Even I didn't register for PahangGo also.

My point is since the app is available publicly in the Play Store, you can't restrict people freedom to use (or abuse) it or whatever you wanted to call it.
The table and other info/analysis is already available in another thread at the other section.
