Hey, I'm really sorry you feel that way. Keep in mind this is only the second phase of our contactless cards roll-out. There's more to come and we're going to make sure that nobody feels left out. But we needed to be mindful in how we proceeded with this, for a few reasons. First, if we had released the new contactless cards and allowed everyone to re-card immediately... From a stock management and delivery perspective, this would have made it very difficult. And probably not great from a customer point of view as well: bear in mind that cards go inactive when they're being replaced, and that's something we've been assessing whether there was a workaround or not.

We considered different options in how we were going to re-card our oldest and most loyal users - including doing it by batch starting from earliest adopters. But this would have created a lot of technical work at a time where we'd rather have our teams focused on delivering a better app & experience.

Anyway, I completely understand how some of you will feel about it - and I anticipated it. Not trying to say we've made the best decision, just explaining what was the thinking behind the route we took!

i am one of those who feel really disappointed. imagine reading about the contactless card & thinking that mine would have it too while it was being sent to me. alas.. when i received it didnt have that wireless logo. when i enquired, i just knew that i was a fews days too early.. & was told that it will soon be upgraded in stages for free.. & now this...

my wife suddenly received a new card. after checking with them, its for security purpose after they detect an abnormal transaction. true enough there was a strange transaction with foreign currency that was blocked

good effort by bigpay, but as a user, you/your wife should diligently check the app for any abnormal transactions recorded.  biggrin.gif

i'd prefer bigpay to contact me directly prior to replacement (and informing of abnormal transaction), at least no shock later.

normally we just check the balance biggrin.gif
yeah.. they should inform first before sending.

i used BP before for my overseas travelling. but now that i got merchantrade card, i use it instead because of convenience of having foreign currency right in my ewallet. BP is now just used for AA flight booking smile.gif

which one better exchange rate : BP vs merchantrade card?
*
i think quite similar but for BP it convert from RM on the spot during transaction. for MT, u buy foreign money earlier so u have more control over it. can plan & buy when the foreign money is at lower rate.
