Hi, my MBPr will be 3 years this Oct and it is under Harvey Norman extended warranty.

The staingate issue is obvious but how long is the warranty period for the issue? Some say it's 3 years while some say it's 4 years.

Also, should i be sending it to Harvey Norman or straight to Apple? Which is the nearest and recommended centre from Subang Jaya?

Estimate about a week for repair?

i have the same problem. made complain to apple first and they gonna ask for yr serial num to check. and they gonna arrange it for you.

there's no Apple in Malaysia.

Did you do it through Apple website and what is the current status?

I mean their authorised service centers.

call Apple Support otp and they'll go through with you based on your serial

mine is mid 2014 and i got it replaced through MV's service centre

I send mine straight to AASP. One time at Mac City OneU, another time at QCD Sunway Pyramid. Both times for this staingate issue. Heard that it is 3 years from date of purchase the last time i sent for warranty claim. Mine was rMBP mid 2014

The issue is categorized under cosmetic defect by Apple.

They will not replace anything. My MBPr whole screen coating gone. With full brightness, it's not noticeable but when it's dimmed, you can see it is a big patch of stain / peeled off coating.

Been using this laptop for the past 6 years and still working fine, except screen and battery. What else can I complain right?

What do you mean by they won't replace anything? There are many cases that it has been replaced, though i'm not sure if it's just the coating or the screen too.

This problem is covered. Just claim from Apple.

i took to 1U there, around 1 week or less, i fix the speaker as well

I sent mine before i travel to Taiwan last year.
They said 2weeks time and i told them it too long, hope they can speed it up when i hand the machine to them.
End up they fix and ready the MBP for me before i touch down to Malaysia. Within 1 week. I sent to The Curve Machines.
FOC, they bear the total cost.
And my screen are totally new. Too bad they didnt replace my battery, as someone mentioned they got free battery replacement(bloated) together with the screen.
But FREE wor, Apple consider very nice already lar.

based on my experience numerous times with Apple support, they are really really really great and nice
