Hi. I have booked CX-5 2.2D FWD. Read a lot of the wheel spin and torque steer. But today, I was offered a 2.5 model. Any members here own a 2.5? How is the consumption in town use? If it can best the average 9.4L/100KM my Subaru XV is getting, I don't mind the more expensive road-tax. Only negatives are the absence of Driver Attention Alert and Smart City Brake Support and the main reason why I booked 2.2D FWD.

QUOTE(1+DC @ Aug 14 2018, 01:37 PM) You will miss out the lane assist feature, adaptive led headlight and the round colored digital display Agree. I will sit out this 2.5 and wait for the 2.2D.

QUOTE(Ivan_T @ Aug 14 2018, 06:06 PM) Definitely the 2.2D for its 420Nm torque, the more complete i-Activsense suite, full color LCD display instrument cluster, not forgetting the super good FC. But ofcoz the diesel engine noise can still be a little annoying. But the 2.0 engine also sound like a diesel engine ... I have a Ssangyong Kyron before so diesel clatter is okay. What swayed my decision is the iActiveSense package. Now for the long wait for the car ....

QUOTE(faizal3178 @ Aug 17 2018, 08:36 PM) I made booking in June for 2.2D GLS DCB. This morning my SA informed me that my car is ready so tomorrow got to go settle the DP and sign loan agreement... 😊 I booked 2.2D FWD Soul Red end July. I was told tentative delivery was in end September or October. But a couple of days back I was asked if I would like a 2.2D DCB AWD. I agreed and will get my CX-5 next week. What a joy and blessing.

QUOTE(faizal3178 @ Aug 25 2018, 11:40 PM) Congrats bro. I've collected my 2.2D GLS DCB yesterday evening... 😊 And yeah, really enjoying the ride very, very much no regrets! Congrats, bro! My first comments on the car are that the i-Stop system is not very smooth. There is a very discernable jerk when you step on the accelerator to move. The lane keep assists worked great. Each time the car touched the white line, the alert comes on and you could feel a very slight pull of the steering as the corrected to keep between the white lines.

QUOTE(broken_heart @ Aug 28 2018, 08:17 AM) Hello CX5 owner, any good recommendation for tint? Which one should go 3M or Llumar? Which series of 3M/Llumar are highly recommended? Please share! Thank you so much! Our car already come with Skytint or was it an option?

QUOTE(Isendir1 @ Aug 29 2018, 05:56 PM) I feel this Konica Minolta Skytint is passable, just took me 1 minute to cool car (i toggle to 20c aircond on auto). If i need privacy, maybe i will just get that sunshades. changing a new tint really waste of 1.5k worth of tint IMO. Yes, I share your point. It's actually not bad. I installed RayTech on my Subaru XV and the cooling effect is not much different when parked under the mid-day sun.

My 2.2D AWD was delivered with a tankful of BHP Euro5. Last Friday, I refueled my second tank at Shell. Strangely, I felt an apparent lack of power after filling up with Shell. Did anyone experience this?

QUOTE(widget @ Sep 18 2018, 08:37 AM) You've made a great choice there. Btw, did your SA mention on the factory-installed power boot for new delivery? If not, maybe you can check with your SA if indeed there is factory-fitted power boot for CX-5 My SA confirmed with me factory fitted power boot is for bookings from SEP onwards and additional RM2k. My AWD 2 2D is Dark Crystal Blue. Although I booked for the Soul Red, I accepted rhe DCB when it was offered to me. I booked end July and got my car mid-August.

QUOTE(zafferZ @ Sep 22 2018, 07:14 PM) I think this is much better than the 1K plus that we need to spend to upgrade to AA or Apple CarPlay? Whats the difference actually? Where can get it installed?

QUOTE(voncrane @ Sep 22 2018, 09:14 PM) Yep, aware it can be gotten now, but how's yours done? You mentioned it's AIO tweaks.. So the easy usb alone hack or had to do the serial hack first? Nice.. Guess 2020 for Malaysia. Thanks for checking in.. .. The cons are real. I have noticed too that the auto wiper sometimes goes pretty fast when it shouldn't. Need to fiddle with the settings some more. Or perhaps it's the Rain-X on it? Lastly, if only the made the auto-hold auto enabled upon each start instead of the istop.. The auto wipers speed is speed-sensitive. If you drive fast, it will swipe faster. The speed markers will set how frequent you want the wiper to swipe at normal speed. I set mine to the third marker and it worked fine so far. What do you all think of the i-Stop system? I found out that gentle pressure on the brake will not activate i-Stop. If you are in the Fuel Monitor Screen, a message requesting you to press the brake harder will come on. This works well with the Auto Hold feature. Light pressure to activate auto hold with no i-Stop. I found the i-Stop jarring when it cuts-off. My CX-5 is a 2.2D AWD.

Received from Mazda Malaysia. Hi Ong as at the current moment, we still do not have the confirmed date on the Car Play/Android Auto retrofit to MZD Connect. However, we plan to introduce in the 4th quarter of the year 2018.

QUOTE(ze2 @ Sep 28 2018, 05:12 PM) Can. Mind Pm me your number? My view is just changing the speakers will not improve the sound much - maybe more clarity. I used to send my car hi-fi upgrade to Klasse Audio. Very professional outfit. The shop is located next to Tawakal Hospital. I am looking for a competent one in Penang. Focal speakers are from France's JM Lab. I have a pair of their shelf speakers. It has a mellow bass but nice treble. Pair it with a sub, then it is very good.

QUOTE(voncrane @ Oct 1 2018, 10:15 AM) I understand.. However, don't experience such issues in the diesel variant. Since there's ample power from low revs. No jerkiness, shakes or vibrations during idling. Will try to take note of its idle rev position later. What I'd like to tune is for better fc and power, smoother or more linear gear changes..especially down shifting, encountered a few times while coasting and going downhill leading to a traffic light or sharp bend, the engine becomes unsure or slow to downshift and just holds on to the previous higher than needed rev. Noticed this happening about 3 times.. Last time, I had to shift to "M" mode to manually downshift. So not sufficiently annoying yet. I am driving a 2.2D AWD but I do not have the problem you described and also when slowing down at traffic junctions and/or coasting down the elevated highway ramp. I am from Penang island. I have been taking the longer route; the new elevated expressway leading to the 2nd Penang Bridge and Pantai Dalam/Permatang Laut expressway, to get home, and to work since I took delivery of the car. The power delivery is so smooth and it is very addictive. BTW, I used Shell and I am getting an average fuel consumption of 14.1km/liter for town use. Any 2.2D owners can share your fuel consumption?

Following your post, I checked my 2.2D is idling at 700 RPM already.
