Hi all brothers & sisters, i had bought a used Nissan Grand Livina 1.6 Auto year 2011. The salesman told it is a fuel save family car.

We drive it 90% (40~70km/h) in town area and 10% (70~100km/h) at highway. Now my car last 185km for Rm50 RON95 Petrol @ RM2.20/litre,

FC is 185km/22.727272litre = 8.14km/litre (27cents/km). I would like to ask help from fellow grand livina owner and other popular car model

pls advise your car FC i think mine a bit high  sweat.gif  sweat.gif  sweat.gif

First of all, it seems your method of measurement is not accurate enough. How to measure more accurately is like this:
1. Fill up to the brim.
2. Reset your trip meter to zero.
3. Drive until fuel warning light comes on.
4. Fill up again to the brim and note how many liters.
5. Check the trip meter and see how many kms already travelled.
6. Divide the distance from the trip meter by the volume you just fill up in point no. 4 to get your real average.

Now I also have the exact same 2011 Livina 1.6AT, driven mostly by my wife and also almost 100% city drive. Fuel consumption is only around 9-10km/ltr. Last time when I drove it with roughly 60% highway/40% city, then can get over 13km/ltr but I drive smoother too. Car was bought from new and only has 77k+km on the odometer now. So IMHO the fuel consumption is not good considering it's such a slow car! doh.gif

In comparison, I just got a 2008 Suzuki Swift Sport 1.6 (M) with almost 120k km on the odometer, been driving it like nuts, already remapped it and use sport exhaust, yet I can still get over 11km/ltr! Haven't tried driving it smooth and slow but probably can exceed 13-14km/ltr easily.

Even my 2.5ltr Toyota Mark X has better fuel consumption than the stupid Livina! It can easily get 10-11km/ltr despite much more power and heavier car.

The Livina 1.6 is underpower, hence the high FC.

The same also happened with the Nissan Sentra. 1.6 FC overall higher than the 1.8.

Yeah, I think the 1.8 Livina should give better FC. Should've bought that one last time but I don't care much about MPV car especially since it's for the wife, so just not willing to spend more money on such a car.
