I thought the latest is that RM halt the transfer of Cicinho in order to do part exchange for Alves of Seville.
BTW what did Perrotta said that pissed the 4th official so much that he got himself sent off without entering the pitch.

for the Cicinho part, i hav no idea which side to believe now. lets juz wait n see.

as for Perrotta, its been reported that he say something like : "you're losing the game for us", after there was a claim for handball in the box by Figo turned down. frankly speaking i checked thru the replays, n still i can't tel for sure is it a handball or not.

If he only said that I don't think its an offense that merit sending off. Something is retarded with the officials. hmm.gif

finally, after much long wait, Cicinho is officially a Roma player ! biggrin.gif

looks like the deal will b 9mil euro, plus 1 or 2mil each for next 2 years if we qualify for CL.

this is certainly a great news for all Romanista... we finally got a capable replacement for Panucci. lets hope Cicinho can bring back our glory days where Cafu sprint up n down at the right flank.

Forza Cicinho ! rclxms.gif

To be honest with you he just didn't suit our team. As a fullback his positioning is extremely poor...he's worse than Roberto Carlos defensively. And he lacked the qualities to be a good winger. But he has alot of pace and is a decent crosser of the ball.

i'm sure he can't be worse than our own Cassetti. biggrin.gif

an attacking-mind n speedy fullback / flank runner would suit Spalletti's system well. its not a coincidence that Panucci can scored 8 goals laz season.

I haven't seen Cassetti so i can't comment on that. tongue.gif
Cicinho is more suited to a 5-3-2 wingback system where the CB's can cover for him.

for me 9mil for Cicinho its abit to much.....just compare to this, Milan got Emerson for only 3.4mil bargain....Old PUMA!...Real Madrid really overhaulin their squad...

but no doubt he's a good player, Cafu style......

i think 9mil euro for Cicinho is still consider a fair price. ya sure we rated him around 7mil before this, but for me 9mil is still acceptable. considering his age, talents n abilities, i believe its a good bet. smile.gif

n he arrived at Rome yesterday, much to the delights of hundreds of Romanista who swarm the airport. biggrin.gif

Palermo 0 - 2 Roma

nice win for the 1st game of the league ! rclxms.gif

quite an entertaining match... both side play pretty well, but we were simply a bit better. Mexes scored an early, n Aquilani double the lead with a stunning long shot. biggrin.gif

Cicinho made his debut off the bench... but didnt do much actually.

a good start n good result from a tough opponent, especially in a hostile ground... keep it up boys ! smile.gif

its official : finally we got a LB to help out Tonetto - Vitorino Antunes.

user posted image

he's a 20 years old Portuguese LB who played for Paços de Ferreira (never heard of it seriously). he made plenty of appearance for the U21 team, as well as 1 senior cap. apparently Juve was interested in him b4.

well thats all we know abt him so far. i dont know how good he is, but it seem he's kinda 'highly-rated'. well at least now we got some1 to rotate n help out Tonetto on the left flank. biggrin.gif

lol talk abt destiny n fate. biggrin.gif

so we're in with MU, Dinamo Kiev n Sporting Lisbon. hm... tough group i would say.

surely the talking point here is the reunion with MU. well lets juz bring it on. but hell, i wouldn't see it as any sort of revenge thing. we should juz focus on it juz like other matches. Dinamo n Sporting are not weak team either. realistically speaking i expect us to finish 2nd.

anyway, Forza Roma ! biggrin.gif

I am more worried about crowd troubles than the match itself. I just hope both set of supporters can show enough maturity.
