So now I'm stuck between the MylarTwo and the KSC75. hmm.gif

I hate decisions. sweat.gif

Thanks a lot for the info man. smile.gif
So far my neckband earphone is being tied at the part where it lost connection. sweat.gif
*
Hehe, it shouldn't be hard to make decision between those two.. one is IEM and another one is clip-on. but since you mentioned that you like bass, i do suggest to get MylarTwo aka Mylar Xb..

Hemm.. actually did you audit those earphone / headphone before? IMO, try listening to them and it's easier to decide which one that you like rather than depending on those review / other forumer's recommendation. Yes our recommendation / review may help but it's still based on our ear but not yours..

Therefore, if you have chance, try listening to them 1st, and you can get 'THE ONE' that suit you the most tongue.gif jusy my 2cent..

Heheh...you are a bit contradictory to yourself though tongue.gif
The problem is...it is not easy to find, test and compare them side by side. So they have to rely on the recommendation here to be safe, rather than buying something they dunno whether it is good or not wink.gif
*
Hehe, yalo.. it is not easy to find, test and compare, but it's still the best if we have chance to audit it.. and he was mentioning so many types of earphone, IEM and also headphone, that's why i suggested him to at least get the feeling of wearing those type of headphone/IEM/earphone, some people might not like IEM as it may be uncomfortable for them..

Hehe, but true, my those 2 posts really oppose each others hehe.. and as i don't have chance to audit it, therefore i have to ask for opinion whether is there any other better headphone within the RM200 price range.. tongue.gif

Any recommendation for a good earphone not over 100 bucks? more specificially canal in-ear phones. Using my iPod's bundled earphone and sick of it after wearing it for a period of time makes my ear ache.  shakehead.gif Already got a Creative EP630 and its great but only used it at home. Wanted something for very rogue usage outdoors more like.  smile.gif

By the way anyone tried these, looks interesting "supposedly" very comfortable earphone.

I heard some reviews that the OEM of EP630 isn't sound nice.. sennheiser MX100? or u mean sennheiser MX400 from davis? that one is not IEM.. it's just normal earphone..

Koss IEM? again from review i heard better stay away from koss IEM, u r talking about Koss Sparkplug. within that price range i would suggest you to try Mylar1 from yuheng (if he is still selling, bcos now most of the ppl will go for Mylar3 or Mylar XB, but of course they are more expensive), or u can give razer M100. just my opinion smile.gif and sorry most of them are from review, i personally don't have any experience trying those IEM mentioned above tongue.gif

Not sure le, lastime used to have 1 in garage sales. but if u r from KL, u can get it from AllIT for RM110. But do listen it before buy it. for my experience, it seriously lack in bass (for me), but that time that shopkeeper just try it with his chapalang MP3 player.. not sure after amp it.

budget round 500,

x-fi cards has smth called EAX..

does that headphone support EAX feature ?

ps: im very new to headphones lol
Edit : are HD555 and HD595 good ? ... without using Amps..
*
Okie.. Headphone doesn't have to 'support' EAX, EAX is a feature offer by the soundcard, and yes, x-fi support EAX5.0. It enhance the sound effect in gaming.. You just need to plug your headphone in, as headphone only plays the sound that is produced by the soundcard. thumbup.gif

Jus got myself a Senn HD201
Is the bass so weak like no base, or is it my Realtek alc850 issue?
I didnt expect it to be so 'no bass'.
I already play some continuous music for 3days straight, but the sound aint improving sad.gif
Or i should look into other headphone with more bass
*
HD201 sounds like that, it's not your SC issue. I heard it before, that's why i didn't buy it as it doesn't really suit my taste tongue.gif (i'm not a basshead, but i cant live with the absent of bass)
Try audit it 1st before purchasing nextime hehe..

Just got myself a sennheiser hd 201 for 90 bucks from bata's thread.

the high and mid's and soundstage is much much better than koss k75. and audio files are much much more clearer than the koss.

only thing these babies need an amp to drive them. After that bass and quality becomes even better.
still running them in but overall i think its a better buy than ks75...and they are real comfy. i had 2 headphones before, zalman 5.1's and the phillips 890 and they kinda soar my ears after a few hours. I had these on for 6 hours straight and my ear's feel absolutely good. awesome buy
*
Another proud owner of HD201 rclxms.gif and nice price u got there (outside selling RM110)

I think ksc75 is more to portability. But comfort wise (especially for those who don't like the clip-on type), Hd201 is really not bad, and it's freaking light as well. However, if i remember correctly it is supraaural type of headphone right.. instead of circumaural.

Aiyo Bro nicholas..

I like that term 'supraaural' type and 'circumaural'.. rclxms.gif

However my HD201 fits my pinna nicely, therefore it is circumaural rather than a supraaural.. guess I have a 'small' pinna(auricle/auricula) huh? biggrin.gif
*
Hehe, i learnt new word also - pinna (just found it from wiki tongue.gif )

Btw bro jazzy939, you are not kidding right? bcos lastime i rmb i tried it, it was just nicely rest on my pinna.. only bigger than the pinna a little bit.. but it's comfortable thumbup.gif meaning that yours are really really small le, or else the other way round : mine one are like elephant's one blush.gif

yo guys, i m planning to buy a headphones or earpiece.... which one is better in terms of sound quality ? those big big ones or those tiny tiny earbuds? should be big big one nicer in sound quality rite? after some reading, ppl seem to talk a lot about the grado... is it good? i can buy grado sr60 at abt 120SGD, and my budget is around there 140SGD? any better phones for that budget? or any other recommendation? i was eyeing super-fi 3 at first but dunno ler.. pro please recommend .. thanks... hahax... a bit off budget is alright i suppose... btw, i will pair it with an ipod de.. thanks thanks!
*
Hemm i assume those 'big big ones' are cans and those 'tiny tiny earbuds' are earbud / IEM?

Hemm comparison between those 2 types whether which one has a nicer sound quality is quite hard bcos there are different thing..

For those headphone (cans), in general they are better in sound stage and instrument seperation. IEM they normally are better in noise isolation. And of course bcos of the size, they are more portable than headphone. And normally headphone is harder to drive than the tiny one. There might have some exceptions which is out of my knowledge, but generally that's it.

Other than the type of headphone / earphone, different brand, or even different model within the same brand will have different sound signature. And to mention everything it's really too much, from mylar, senn, AKG, Grado, AT and so on... Try listen to few different kind of headphone/earphone, then maybe u'll find the sound that u like. wonder where can test & try the headphone / earphone? if you are from KL area, then pay attention to MadZiZ's thread 'Lastnight tek tarik session', they had quite frequent meet up, and some tailo in the audiophile forum were there also. Then that's the time u kena poison rclxms.gif

i see.. i m from penang area and studying in Singapore currently, and i know this place Stereo Electronics which lets ppl to try out various brands of headphones/earpiece... well, i shall go and try out then...  thumbup.gif

portability is not an issue, as i plan to put that at home while i have already own a creative EP630, but then i dun really like that creative earpiece cos when the cable are rub against anyth, its very loud in the ear... yucks...
harder to drive you mean you need an amp in order to drive it ? hahax.. sorry.. i am rather noobish here... ya, i like to hear each detail clearly (i mean better instrument seperation i suppose..lol..) so, headphones can provide these qualities more than IEM? noise isolation doesnt matter much to me..
hahax, i shall try it the wednesday... lol.. i m afraid they sound the same as my creative EP630...lol... at 1st this creative earpiece sounds so much better than the ipod earbud, but after some time, i feel tat the sound is a bit dull then the ipod earbud is worse.. haih.. then now i demand more..  doh.gif
*
This is microphonic effect u r talking about, and most IEM will have this problem.

Yeah, harder to drive, so u need an amp to drive it. And again, there is many different kind of combination (which amp to pair with each headphone/earphone). Hehe, slowly upgrade bro.. but i'm sure some forumer will ask u to direct jump to the higher range so that u can save few steps upgrading. i mean if u already targeted something at the higher range, and u've heard of it. Bcos once u listen to those better and suit your taste punya sound, they will haunt you, and if u purchase a lower range one, u'll not be satisfied (just like how the HD580 sound in my head now doh.gif ).

Another very important thing is your source lo thumbup.gif just my noob overview hehe, hope that it helps a little bit blush.gif but great thing u r studying in S'pore. u should go Jaben bro.. tongue.gif
