Using Asus RT-AC68U in a 3 storey home, with no issue.

Router is located in the middle of the house (master bedroom).

You may need to test the best channel number to reduce congestion / interference from the neighbours ...

Even when using 5GHz ?

Using mainly 2.4GHz on 20Mhz channel bandwidth. This is more than sufficient for 50Mbps Unifi speed.

On 5GHz, the signal will be weaker but is usually enough to reach the upper floors.
