well the fact that gh2 is using usb plug is even better. if uve got some games on the pc, the buttons can be programmed to play those games. (ive tried it on "frets on fire") or "free version of guitar hero"

Should be able to, as the developers state that the GH guitars WILL work with Rock Band. Also, if you've seen the early videos on Youtube, they are all using the current GH2 guitars....... which means shouldn't be a problem with GH3.
But what I suspect, is that you'll need Live to update your machine because of the new wireless guitars.

Eh no one notice there's a demo available for dlod? It's available at fileshack of all places. You just need to dload the iso n then burn to cdr or dvdr, then go to the Demo section of the Dashboard to launch the game.

Thanks for the link, downloaded and tried it yesterday, quite the chunted, too bad only four songs and then you get kicked out of the demo and need to restart. I like the fact that they indicate which notes you can do a pull off/hammer on so you don't have to figure to much when you can do it. Can't wait for the full version to be released.

I believe I'm a decent medium difficulty career player, 5 stared all songs in GH2. With Through the Fire and Flames, I can't even finish the song on medium. Crazy@$$ song
this is my first time playing guitar hero , and i just played the guitar hero 3 demo. what was funny was first i found medium pretty difficult. then after a while i tried hard and it was quite more challenging than medium. then after one day i played expert n hit 90% on a song on my 2nd try! XD but its an easy song "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" haha.. i think i might consider gettin this game.

I haven't finished the hard career yet, but it i find that the keys are now much more geared towards the guitar, i.e. lots of repeated notes. its much harder with a controller though to keep combos going.
lol... i need to finish hard career. but for some reason it wont let me enter the tutorial mode to complete for achievement
Ok, I'm playing the game on hard and I've reached Knights of Cydonia which I cannot for the life of me beat. Is there some way to tap faster? I'm playing with a controller, btw. There has to be another method to get those notes that are stuck extremely closely together cus my fingers just can't tap that fast.

i dont know how to play a real guitar but i am all addicted to GH2 and it's only GH2 not yet GH3 so it's really worth it lah. maybe just do what like i did lah... when GH2 released that time it was rm350 cant afford it so wait couple of months till last month when no more ppl playing then buy used GH2 rm200... so same goes to GH3 lah hehehe have to wait till no more ppl playing it then only buy lah

Consider me a convert too. Had my first taste of GH, never touched GH ever before. Played the GH3 demo last nite and found it unexpectedly addictive ..... even without the guitar.

How do you use the 5th button if you use a regular controller?
The orange button on the guitar is the 'A' button for the controller.. But using the controller damn susah at first.. my fingers habis tersimpul trying to follow the buttons..

anybody tried co-op career already ? Just read the manual and it says "watch out for songs that are not available on the single player career mode" or something like that.
So what i want to ask is what songs do they put in the coop career ? IINM paint it black is not available when i played coop with mayat the other day

I've completed GHIII on easy and half way on normal mode...now holding back coz waiting for my GHIII's guitar to arrive...but that was some "spot" from ur brother though... hope it will not bring up any sensitive issues which will effect GH series...

I dunno..... Sure, Harrison is an AMAZING guitarist which lots of feel..... but I can't imagine soloing to their songs.... It's mostly 3-4 chord progressions and not really suited for the Guitar Hero mythos.
HOWEVER...... if it's for Rock Band, it's an EXCELLENT add-on. They are fun songs to play and can be great with a bunch of friends.
Aerosmith WOULD be fun, because their songs are very guitar-centric and Joe Perry is just WICKED on the guitar. Fits too, because he's a Gibson player as well.
guitar hero games should make tribute to real guitar hero like satriani,vai,malmsteen,marty fretman, jon petrucci,or at least jimmy hendrix ok laa.. or make DLC .. and aggree with blacktrix .. the beatles songs is great to play in RoCKBand game...
Is it possible to get the Gibson GH3 controller separately from the game? I am still playing GH2 and still loving it. The tracks in GH3 doesnt really suit my love so i actually skipped that game.
i just bought a GH wireless guitar from a shop in Sunway Pyramid. The thing is, the receiver that came with the guitar wont connect the guitar to the console any idea on why this is happening ? maybe i'm doing something wrong or its hardware malfunction ?? thanks in advance
well i actually bought the guitar only which is the xplorer. and it comes with some receiver thing that im supposed to plug into the xbox360. is there such a thing as a wireless xplorer ?

oh, THen do you know where to get a wired or wireless guitar? Prefer some better quality one.
I think the wired guitar (xplorer) from GH2 bundle is almost impossible to be purchase anywhere in retail outlet now bro, wireless guitar you can consider getting GH3 bundle (Les Paul) or wait for the GH-Aerosmith bundle....both are good value for $ considering the good quality of the guitar and a copy of the game included... I personally will never suggest anything NOT frm Neversoft & Activision...those 3rd party controller can really spoil the game and gets you really frustrated...

need help guys . i just recently bought a guitar hero x-plorer guitar i try it on the guitar hero III game but i seem cannot go to the bonus tracks . the download tracks i can go by pushing the orange fret (i think) but bonus tracks seems to be failed . and i noticed that i cannot signout using the x-plorer guitar .are there any methods to go to the bonus tracks ? and also can i use the wireless controller together with the guitar or else ? .
oh i see .. meaning to access the bonus track i need to push the blue fret button or else ? . are there any button besides the blue button on the guitar to access the bonus track ? . i think i push the red fret to access the download track .. ?

you can always use rock band drums.... just to say,activision is not releasing stand-alone drums or microphone. the only packages are:

i gets the rock band drums,though that might disqualify in rankings,because of the subtraction of one drum note
Added on October 5, 2008, 10:59 pmoh guys something's wrong with my les paul controller. red fret button seems to be dying.it will go on and off when it likes,so when it completely dies i break the controller and blow the fret board's connector,then put it back.
also,the strum bar seems to be double-strumming,which is irritating when i try to fc anything(minus freaking 2 notes for welcome to the jungle,and 1 note for 3's and 7's!!) i'd fix that,but it uses freaking torx screws,and i'm too lazy to go to a hardware store.

trogdor1oh1, ur probs is just like mine..3months old but mine started to show probs after 2mnths. especially the RED button. BTW just how u guys played with expert difficulty?? damned crazy coz my fingers starting to ache..basically i stucked @ One & R.Blood / Hard
