Hi guys,

i'm planning to upgrade my old macbook to the new 2018 version. i have done research about this current 2018 mbp common problem like keyboard (yeah they haven't solve the problem yet), t2 chip kernel panic, hissing ssd, crackling audio.  i found out all these problem in the reddit website.

all these problem makes me don't want to buy the mbp but at the same time i really want it haha you know because i'm already like(trapped) in the apple ecosystem

so any of you guys got any problem with your 2018 mbp? please advice(racun) should i get the new 2018 mbp.

thanks!

The 2018 model isnt as bad as the 2017 model - im referring to the keyboard issues. I wouldnt say its completely defect free but its not really an issue considering that Apple has already replaced the problematic keyboards this year. Electronic defects are common, same for all brands , just pray you dont get a lemon unit.

How long did it take for Hyper to send the hubs to you? Mine took more than a week, still waiting. USPS really sucks.

That was fast. I think orders in December really slow probably due to festive season, USPS cannot cope.

Same, mine also arrived on Tuesday.

Pretty awesome quality I must say, should've bought the kickstarter edition, 50% cheaper than the newer version @ $99. The only difference is the second Type C port and USB A transfer speed.

Am I the only one with stuck macbook pro Keyboard  and sometimes produce double letter when type < faster

Oh boy that sounds like the usual butterfly switch problem, but if you're using a MBP2019, I'm actually surprised. Try removing the faulty keys and use a blower and see if it works?

Hey guys, i just picked up my new macbook pro 13 256gb β€˜19 today from Switch. But i realize upon starting my macbook, the bottom part starts getting so damn hot. After signing in to my apple id etc. I turned off my mac. Let it rest for a bit, then i turned on again, within 5 mins it get very hot again. I wonder whats wrong with it. Called Switch, told them about the problem. They asked me to go to the service centre to get it rectified as they cant give me a 1-1 exhange. Sigh, such a disspointment. Anyone else having this issue ? It’s seriously so damn hot below, I am a macbook user previously, never had i encounter this problem before.

Download iStat and check where is the heat source build up. iStat is pretty handy to find if there's any blockages in the air vents etc.

However, when the Macbook is booted for the first time, it is normal for it to be running hot and fans going wild because it is still settling in and updating all the updates etc. Make sure your Mac is placed on a flat surface, nothing blocking the side and rear vents to have maximum ventilation.

Btw bro, here are my temps. Its still so damn hot under the laptop and also on the touchbar area.

You can get the trial version from the official site, iStat Menu and if you like it, can buy it for future use haha.

Okay your temps seems normal. Have you tried changing the fan speed to high / maximum to see if it helps with the cooling? The body should be warm, but not to the extend that is is uncomfortable to touch. Are you using any USB Hub?

This is mine on idle. Think its way hotter than yours πŸ˜…
