i have never owned a mavic with id360 freehub system so i can't say.
are you looking into doing all the maintenance and repairs yourself?
i don't think it's any harder to maintain than other factory built wheels.
i own 2 sets of old mavics with fts freehub system.

as with other brands with proprietary parts, repairs or replacement not so easy la

Thanks for replying.
No I'm not going to do the maintenance haha. Just wondering if things are broken, I heard it's hard to get the spare parts as Mavic tends to discontinue after retiring old models. I never own a carbon wheelset, so I'm not sure myself.

As with all other brands.
Parts are still available years after discontinued. But have to source over the internet la.
Ive used mine for 7 years. Recently refurbished the freehub with aftermarket part.

Quickie... I'm in a delima. Looking at something used, coming from mtb. There's a kuota carbon, merida flx and a giant alu. Varying years and all with 105 min. What kinda aspects in cycling world should I look into in considering the above? Price points within 1k differences.

Looks wise.. Well, the colour schemes are pretty attractive. Interms of weight, carbon being lightest. My concern likely would be durability. I suppose alu more durable and resistant to abuse? Budget I am looking at 4k ish and the brand as above.

Endurance and road geo.. Does it make a difference? If u get used to the bike.. Anything type/ride/ comfy level goes?

I guess endurance more upright n not as stiff. Yes, if u r used to it, anything goes. Carbon is just as durable as alu.

Got the Lynskey Helix Pro on clearance. I figure Titanium is a good fit for someone with poor bike skills like me since they’re supposed to be indestructible...

Hi guys,

I have been interested in cycling for a quite a while now. I am thinking of getting a budget friendly road bike to give it a try. Probably less than 3K inclusive of all the necessary gears such as helmet, suits and shoes. These are my preferences;

- Road bike only
- No cheap carbon bikes
- 9kg or lighter
- Carbon fork
- Shimano Tiagra and above (105 is preferred)
- Major brands are preferred (trying to avoid Twitter, Alcott and etc)

Do you guys have any suggestions on which road bike I should try? Any recommendation for bike shop with good services and competitive pricing around Klang Valley?
